is FULL! i just started it at the end of November. Now what do I do? I'm thinking once it thaws, I'll be able to turn it and some of the food scraps will break down making room for green & brown clippings from the yard.

what do I do with my kitchen scraps now?

I have a few small tubs on the back porch where I'm throwing my kitchen compost scraps - of course they freeze/thaw/freeze out there, but that starts breaking it down for the compost pile come Spring! I'll probably have enough that I *donate* a bunch of my compost materials to our community garden, especially considering our pet bunny's litter box droppings. But I can't bear to throw stuff out all winter, even if the composter isn't working in this cold!!

Wow Deb, I never thought about the compost tumbler freezing in the winter. I've been after hubby to get/make me one for awhile. Maybe I'll have to rethink it and hold off until spring.
TJ I'm with you, I hate to throw away my kitchen scraps in the winter so I save them until hubby can't stand it and I try to get to my frozen compost pile (which right now is under ALOT of snow,) or I endup throwing the stuff away. And it really hurts now since we now have a juicer and juice often, I give some of the pulp to the chickens but still have alot left over.
