Those needing it most probably have no email to see this but my prayers go out to the sisters and their families in the states hit by this weather. Here in Arkansas we have had the flooding and the threats but it passed over our area without touching down.

We got it here really bad. Just 20 and 35 miles away. Ringgold, Ga. was practically destroyed. Trenton, Ga, too. And Lookout Valley. A whole trailer park is gone. And that was a huge park. Hundreds of trailers.

Just now on the news they said 27 people here have been confirmed dead. That's what they know of so far. In Al. Ga, and Tn. around 200 people have been killed from this wave of storms that came through here yesterday one after another.

They are still searching for people now and will be for awhile. Thousands of homes destroyed and thousands without power and will be for days to come. They said this is the worst storms to ever hit this area.

Please keep Kelly Wall in your paryers too. She lives in Appison, Tn and they were hit hard too. 1 person died there. I am going to call her and see if they are ok. Just left a message for her to call when she can.

It really does look like a war zone here. My Dd lives in Flintstone, Ga and there were several neighborhoods damaged. A tree just missed falling on their house but one fell right on the middle of a house just up the street. No power there for days either. Power lines ripped up and torn to pieces.

But some places didn't get anything. Just limbs and branches. We had strong winds and thunder and lightening and even hail. And I saw some trees down around me. But nothing like all around us. We are in a valley towards the end of it. I did see the clouds forming that were heading to Ringgold. Those came from Birmingham, Al.

Please pray for those who have lost loved ones and homes. Thank you.

Kris

Kris, I just heard this morning--just so awful. They said the tornado that went through Birmingham was a mile wide--made my blood turn cold. I'm so sad for these people--all of them, who've lost everything, who've lost loved ones.

Kris, let us know about Kelli, won't you? She's such a dear person and I really enjoyed meeting her a few years back. Love that little girl of hers to death!

My neighbor is an electrical lineman and he got called for storm duty to Clarksville,Tn. Have no idea how long he will be gone. He has been out numerous times for different storms, and sometimes is gone for weeks and months at a time. Hope everyone is alright.

We have the flooding here, and several roads are closed and people have been evacuated. Everyone take care and have a good day. Lola

Every day, in every way, I become better and better.

Lola, When your neighbor gets back tell him thank you from a farmgirl living in Clarksville. We are lucky and have power but thousands don't. We did not take a direct hit but the wind damage is significant none the less.
Even those of us without significant damage are stressed from so many storms in such a short time. We lost a huge maple in the front yard. Missed the house by an inch! Seriously, it hit the steps but missed the porch. So we are saying thanks for the fire wood and the undamaged house!

Prayers are being sent to our Southern Sisters.
You all have been in my thoughts all day.. If anyone knows of any ways we could help, please let me know. I'd love to do something, I feel so helpless up here.

I worry about the animals. Kris- Is there an animal shelter in the area? ( Many southern areas don't have one believe it or not. :( ) I'd love to send a donation to help take care of the influx of animals. I am horrified that many of them will be put down because owners have no home to take them back to.

Praying for all farmgirls affected by these horrible storms. I agree with Laurie - if anything needs to be done - I'll do it! The suffering and damage is so unbelievable.

We are ok!! My house is intact! However Apison has had 8 deaths, this is a very small town, the tornado was an F5. Houses were leveled, debris everywhere, we are without power, so we left to stay with my Inlaws. I am going to upload photos to facebook tonight. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!! I really means a lot.

Forgot to say that they are saying if anyone wants to help to give to the Red Cross and give blood. Those 2 areas are the worst hit in times like this. They run out of money and blood so fast. That's what they are asking people to do. And they are actually turning away volunteers in several areas.

Having been through hurricanes my whole life living in Florida and bad tornadoes as well, my heart really goes out to these folks! We had four hurricanes hit us in 2004. I know what this is like. We've lived on generator's so many times up to 10 days one year.

I pray for those who are dealing with this natural disaster and hope they get the help and comfort they need.

It gets so quiet after these storms go through. It is like a war zone, you can't believe what you are seeing. But, if you stay calm and take care of the basic necessities like eating and sleeping you get through it and before you know it your life is back to normal.

Don't isolate yourself. Stay with friends and family. Keeping support and helping others is really a great help to the nerves.

The tornado that went through Tuscaloosa continued on into Birmingham after it went through the area where my sister and mother live. My sister's neighborhood was pretty well demolished. Her house and the 2 just past it seem to be the only ones left in livable condition. Most of the ones in the entrance to her street ( a circular road) are gone. Either totally torn down or piles of rubble. Huge hardwood trees down everywhere. All the small business on the main road are destroyed. There were fatalities in the area.
She is a nurse and had already gone to work early, knowing that storms were imminent. My 83 year old mom was home alone. She got into the linen closet right before it hit. (But only because I called and told her to...) The huge beautiful Jap. Maple in her front yard has the top twisted out, a holly tree down across her drive, all the crape myrtles are gone but one, the storage bldg out back is gone, trees and limbs all around her house, but seems to be no damage to the house itself. Same for the other two past hers. The ones across the street have huge trees on them.
She had to park over a mile away and sneak in the back way after she got off work yesterday morning. She was able to go in and get a bag each for her and mom. The officials had made everyone leave Wed. night because of gas from the destroyed homes. They're both staying with me until they're allowed back into the area. My sister went back today to volunteer at the command center since she's a nurse and retired Army.
Also had relatives in North Alabama have damage to their homes. Their power is out and don't know when it'll be back because it comes from Brown's Ferry Nuclear Plant, which was shut down due to issues from the storms.
Sending prayers and healing thoughts to all across the country who were affected by this massive outbreak of storms. We were blessed to not have more damage than we did and no injuries or deaths.

To me, a witch is a woman that is capable of letting her intuition take hold of her actions, that communes with her environment, that isn't afraid of facing challenges.

Teresa I'm so glad your mom pay attention to you! I hope you find there is no damage to the house. I'm sure it is to early to know for sure. Sending love and light to you and yours.
