I've hesitated to add my own prayer request on this forum as there are so many needs among us already, but I draw strength from the "Farmgirl Connection". I was gone for so long but have really enjoyed it since I've been back.
I'm back because I have extra time now; I and my husband both have recently become unemployed. In my case, I loved my job and even didn't mind bringing work home with me. Without going into detail, you know how it is when new management comes to an organization--change is always emminent.
I've been at home now for two months and found that I really enjoy being here. There is always something to do! If it is God's will, I'll gladly return to the workforce but my husband would like me to be a housewife also! (He had an interview this past week. . .it will be a couple of weeks before we hear anything.)
Anyway, please be in prayer for us both that God will provide. Money (savings) is getting tight and I tend to be a worrier. I find comfort in God's word and His promises but the "human" in me tends to be in constant concern mode.
Thanks so much to all of you dear farmgirls. You're beautiful in so many ways. Darlene

Darlene~ I am sending out prayers to you. I've been throughthis before and it is not always easy to sit back and wait for events to unfold. The waiting time after an interview can seem so long.

Darlene,
You are in my thoughts and prayers---a lot of folks are having a tough time in this economy. I've always believed that when one door closes, another opens---but it can be mighty hard to find the door handle sometimes!

it truly is tough times hard to deal with. we are going through it too. we have had our income stop. so scary for sure. we are taking it a day at a time. so today i know what my tasks are. the rest i try to leave to my God Jehovah. i am sad to say but there is comfort in knowing i am not alone in the struggle. so i send you hugs and a prayer it will work out for you. i think i have come to accept things may change for us here. hoping you have a fine home day sherrye

Elaine, Alee, Diane, Deborah, Sherrye. . .thank you all so much for the support. As I said before, it is so wonderful to draw strength from people we've never met before, but knowing that in God's family, we are all sisters.
And being "farmgirls" just make it that much more special!
Prayers and hugs back to you, Darlene

I just read your note and I surely understand your dilemma. If the economy was better, one might feel more comfortable making the decision to stay at home. But, things are different now. It is a time of faith-building. Bless you and your family. God is your Provider, as He is mine. You definitely have my prayers.

You are in my prayers. My DH has been out of work for two years. I feel like we are back in the 1980s when we were both unemployed. We survived but it is not easy. He picks up small jobs here and there but just enough to pay some bills. I work only 2 days a week at a quilt shop. Have tried to get a full time job buy no one calls back, We just put our faith in God!! He gets us through it all!!
