Need some healing thoughts from my farmgirl sisters. Sunday I had a splitting head-ache and sore throat. Now it is Wednesday and I can barely swallow and feel awful. I went and had a strep test yesterday, just to be sure. The first one was negative, but they sent another to be cultured. My sister called me and said that she has strep. This is not what I need right before my big trip out west. Any prayers or remedies are welcomed. Nothing is going to keep me from packing up my trailer and hitting the road.

I ask not for a larger garden, but for finer seeds.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Diane- What a bummer! I'd go anyway too. Try to rest as much as you can while taking care of your life and preparing to go!
Just a nurse thought for you. If you do end up on an antibiotic and if you are prone to itches in the nether region after antibiotics, be sure to tell your doc that you need to take a prescription for treatment with you because you will be on the loose, I mean road. : )
I'd hate for you to get well and then have to deal with that!
Have a great trip!

Diane,
At the very first sign of any cold, sore throat...etc I take a product called Herbal Resistance Liquid. It usually clears up my symptoms and I don't get sick. Homeopathy works better for my daughter and hubby. If you go to ABC Homeopathy http://www.abchomeopathy.com/ go to the remedy finder and put in your symptoms it will make recommendations for remedies. You can look up each remedy and see which you feel would work best for you. My hubby had a very severe sinus infection and he does not go to doctors, between homeopathy and oregano oil he kicked it.
Hope you feel better and have a wonderful trip.

Thanks for all the kind wishes and remedies! I am doing Ok today. I just have to be careful not to get an infection because I am on Enbrel for my RA and an infection could be really bad. The best relief I am getting is from gargling with warm salt water.

Thursday, and my throat is still raw, head is throbbing and all over soreness. I haven't been sick for a long time. I should get results back today from my strep test. There is a virus going around here also. Note to self...must get better by Monday. Leaving for my western adventure. Wild horses couldn't keep me away.

Oh, I do hope you feel better soon. Please rest when you can. Have a safe trip and a wonderful time. When you get home we want to "hear" all about it-and you won't even have to "talk". Take care, Joey

Thinking of you and all the farmgirls on the loose this week. I know you are having a wonderful time and am hoping it is safe for everyone involved. Can't wait to hear about it. Certainly hope you were feeling better when you left today. Have fun! Joey
