I just got back from holidays, during which dh ran (and finished) his first Ironman Triathlon. It was so great! He's so proud and happy, especially after 2 years of training for it.
I volunteered during the race, and actually got to hand him water and a special needs bag during the last leg of his run - I was so happy to see him doing so well.

Just wanted to share my happy news!

our area has an annual traithalon event here. folks from all over participate. they have to bike, swim in the Bay and run I believe it is.

that's great that your husband participated in that.

He's already planning on doing the race again in 2009. It's just too much to try and do it every year.

Kudos to you both! My hubby and some of his pals patricipated in a mini triathalon this past weekend too! This was for the Duke Liver Center. He was on a team, so he did the cycling part 56 miles in 2 hours 40 minutes! I cycle too but can't maintain a 21 average! I was happy enough to be there to support everyone.

It's very interesting to people watch Kudos to all who bust a hump and push their limits!!

Where did he do the race? For the last few years my daughter and I have gone to Lake Placid to watch the Ironman Triathalon there. She loves it and did a mini-tri last year and won first place in her age group. Congrats!!

honey hunk hank has done several triathlons .. we saw our first one while vacationing in hawaii ... and it just excited him to start them .. he's done the boston marathon a few times too! i so admire both men and women who are in shape to do these ... i'm pretty good at doing some marathon SHOPPING! hank has only done one event with SWIMMING .. mostly it's been running, biking and rowing.

congrats to your honey!!!
