I would love to learn to KNIT. I love looking at all of the beautiful scarves, socks, and throws and I keep telling myself to just sit down and take the time to LEARN. I know if I could find someone nearby to teach me I would learn better than the video I have.I will do it I will do it I will do it!!!! :)
What would you like to learn to do in the world of arts and crafts?

To sew clothes I would wear. Or to sew clothes anyone would wear. I have made a couple skirts but I can't get through them without my husband's help (a REALLY good sewing man, I tell ya!) and I am clueless about how to follow a pattern. I WILL learn how to do this!

To carve something that doesn't look like a child hacked away at. I've carved a few pieces, but they aren't very good. I will figure this out and get it right.

Tatting would be fun to learn. I've watched those who tat and they look so serene when they are creating something.

I would love to learn how to tat. Knitting had been one of those things but I learned a little over a year ago and I just love it. I'm sure once you learn how to knit you'll love it like I do.

I'd like to add smocking and cutwork to my list too. I'll stop now because I have a really long list of things and I could keep going and going and going.

I want to learn rug hooking. I also want to actually sit down and sew some clothes. I did it in High School and believe I could still remember most (I'm a bit intimidated by zippers right now). I've done some home dec sewing so I just need to DO IT. The rug hooking, I've never tried but love the look of them (love the ones Aunt Jenny makes). I don't think I have anyone around me that I could learn from so this may have to be a you tube style learning.
Oh and I'd like to try spinning.
I taped a video on PBS years ago on beginning knitting and after watching, rewinding, watching, rewinding, trying, watching, rewinding, tyring.......I finally figured it out. Good thing since silly me taped over my program later on and PBS hasn't run it again since!
I like everybodies attitude...I WILL LEARN THESE CRAFTS!
Audrey

I just found a book that teaches a lefty how to crochet with yarn. I'm hoping that I'll be able to make some sense out of it. I'm like you Justine. I could go on and on about the things I'd like to learn.

I learned to crochet last year and love it! My big goal for this year is to learn to quilt. I started my first project last night (at the quilting/craft night at a local church). It was a slow start---I'm planning to hand stitch everything but I have some very encouraging friends helping me out when I have questions.

Sheila, I hope you learn bobbin lace. I have a friend who does that, and she makes beautiful things. She took best of show at the fair last year for one of her pieces.
