Does anyone out there have a Kombucha Scoby they would like to part with for a trade? I need some instructions also of what to do with it to get the liquid started in a gallon jar. Would you have to mail in in a seal a meal to prevent leaking????in the mail? I have just heard such great things about this and would like to give it a try. What are you looking for? Hugs, Mary

Mary I saw a wonderful article in the last MJF magazine and if I'm not mistaken there was directions on how to grow your own. I will check for sure in the morning and get back to you.

Yes, Mary, there are directions in the latest MJF...Have you found a Scoby yet? I have several saved and can send you one to start if you like.

I have a very detailed handout I have done on making kombucha....sort of grew from questions I got as I was sending out SCOBYs. I would be happy to send it out if anyone wants, just send me your email addie privately. It's about 6 pages of text and too long to just post here. I do cover storing the SCOBYs in a "hotel".
