Anyone else watching the premiere of the new American Girl doll movie tonight? We are making an event out of it here. (My dd, okay...me too) loves AG and has several of the dolls. She just bought Kit Kittredge that she's wanted forever with her birthday money from all the grandparents. My DH got her "McKenna" at Christmas and that is what the movie is about tonight. Her best friend is sleeping over and I am making them homemade pizzas. It's on NBC tonight. Anyone else watching? Any other moms love AG too?

Wow..thanks for the notice. I sent messages to the granddaughters so they don't miss out. I will watch too! Annie

I have a son... no daughters... but if I did - OH MAN would she have American Girl Dolls!!! I'm still holding out for a miracle... or, at least, for granddaughters! LOL!!! I've even considered buying a couple just for when our favorite little girls visit, but my guys would think I've lost my mind! LOL!!!
Enjoy every minute, Nicole (for me, too!)!
Hugs -

My daughter got the latest catalog and they are opening a store here in Houston. OMGosh!! She is so excited. So I guess we will be going to AG Doll store after September.
She has Molly. She wants Kit but I said no. I told her she could have an outfit or something for Molly. She can't decide between the 1940's swimsuit or the Tap dance outfit from the Molly Movie.
Give a review on the movie. I don't know if I care for her to see it. I don't like the gymnastics crowd as it is. I don't mean that in a bad way, I don't like the way they push girls to be thin. Not all of them are like that, but didn't care for a few of the ones that I have seen.

We made a "doll movie premiere party" at our house, too, and made food, posters and "treat bags" and had a high old time yesterday watching. All my girls and I are big AG fans! Loved the McKenna movie last night!

Suzanne, How cute! I am sure you had fun! My dd and her best friend had a fun time, and we all enjoyed the movie. It was on pretty late on the East coast so we will probably watch it again soon (DVR'red it).

I used to borrow my nieces AG books. They were wonderful! I was sorry when she outgrew them.

I like the AG dolls but they are too expensive for my pocketbook. I bought my granddaughter Jubilee from the Vision Forum website and she loves her. I got her on sale and ended up paying half the price I would have paid for an AG doll. She does get the catalog and as the dolls are the same size lots of things can be used interchangeably. I have thought about making her a wardrobe for Jubilee for Christmas this year. I have the Kit movie but she doesn't seem to care for it. I have picked up some of the books along the way at different places and when she stays over we read them together sometimes.

Being 35 years old and playing with AG dolls is my "dirty little secret!" My sister bought me Molly when we were both in our mid-twenties; she remembered me under the covers at night with a flashlight and the AG catalog back when we were girls, but my parents could never afford one. When I adopted my daughter, I gave Molly to her, and I kind of regret it because I liked her so much!

Awwww...Jessie, that is adorable! Yes, I've been caught combing the dolls' hair for my daughter before, hee hee. I love them too. Molly is my favorite, too. ;) They remind me of my favorite doll, "My Friend Mandy" from when I was a kid. DD has her and plays with her alongside her AG dolls. I keep saying when she goes off to college, I'll take good care of her dolls for her, lol! AG dolls are pricey, but they are really good quality and hold up very well. My dd got one from her grandmother, and the last one she paid for with her own money. We don't buy her video games and she isn't in sports, so I don't feel guilty about her having AG dolls.

Well, I can only hope I have a granddaughter someday! My daughter (now 14) went through a huge American Girl phase some years back and we have packed away Felicity, Elizabeth, Samantha, Molly and Kit!!! Plus furniture, clothes, stables (yes with horses too). It makes me sad that the doll phase is so short and then it's gone....on to makeup, clothes, music and boys. Enjoy the doll years while you can!!!!!!!
