Wow is about all I could say about it and who in the heck is running our country. The really scary part to me is how we had 5000 armed nuclear rockets.( bombs) And now we only have 1500 armed nuclear rockets and he wants to get it down to 300. Very scary after seeing on the news last week that North Korea and Iran has joined forces to create more nuclear power together. What is he thinking....And after the movie we went out to eat and our waiter was this young little foreign guy. My husband ask him who he was going to vote for and he told us Obama. He told us he just got his citizenship 2 years ago and he is going to Valencia college. I told him good luck on finding a job if he voted Obama back in. I ask him how he was paying to go to college and he said off of federal funding. (student loans) I explained to to him how he had to pay those loans back and how was he going to do that if he could not get a job. I told him that he would be in front of a federal judge and could possibly go to jail. Which is true because it happened to my niece. So his reply was he would just move back to his country if that happened. Unbelievable!!!! These kids don't have a clue I advised him to go watch 2016 it would help him understand our government here a little better and open his eyes to what is going on.

1. The "young little foreign guy" is a US citizen now. I suspect his comment about moving back to the country of his birth was a lame attempt at a joke to get you to quit prying into his private life while he was just trying to do his job.
2. Just because your niece defaulted on her student debt doesn't mean it's inevitable that all will. The fact is that this "young little foreign guy" is already paying down his debt, as a waiter and possibly with other jobs, too. You don't know, and I imagine the young man could have been insulted that you assumed he was destined to be a deadbeat.
3. The armed nuclear rockets that have been taken out of service are no longer the best we can do, nor suited to the nature of modern threats to our security. We need fewer and different kinds to defend ourselves, and we have them. Please do your homework.
4. There are many films about the workings of the US government, most of them produced with an agenda to support. All of them can be very plausible, because they are made that way, with evidence, interviews, statistics, et cetera carefully selected by the producers to tell only the story they want to tell and eliminate other points of view. You might find it interesting to watch some other films made with differing agendas, so you can decide what to believe (and how to vote most wisely) knowing you have heard everyone out. That's the American way, after all.
5. Who is running this country? Well, actually, we are. We only relinquish our control when we allow those with the power and financial backing to model our opinions for us. Stay skeptical. Ask questions -- even those that seem "foreign" to you. Trust your own logic, but make sure you have all the facts, and that they ARE facts, not just propaganda.
6. I will never again post a political rant on Farmgirl Connection. I know there are a lot of us who have strong political and religious beliefs that could cause posts here to become unpleasantly volatile. I think we should probably follow the old social rule and avoid those topics if we can. This time, I just couldn't. I won't object at all if the moderators decide to delete my post, and perhaps this whole thread, as being inappropriate.
