Has anyone visited Cade Cove in TN?

If so what did you like most about it.

Would be a beautiful weekend trip for the Spring!

Blessings,

Judy

I've been to Cades Cove. It is very pretty. Fun place to hike. Lots of flowers and green grass. A few old cabins to explore. We saw a Momma bear and her cubs there. It's slow going because of the traffic but worth it. Joey

My family and I went there a few years ago in the Fall. It was beautiful to say the least. We did not make the entire trip and did not know that it was 11 miles around until we got back to the hotel and started looking at the brochures. I would love to go back in the Spring when everything starts blooming. I know it would be breathtaking. I love nature and it is so hard to find land that is pretty much untouched. I think it is great that they try to maintain the land as they do. Sad to say...as of today, Pigeon Forge has lost a lot of real estate to fire over the weekend. I think they said in one report on the morning news that it was the size of 200 football fields as of yesterday. There were several cabins burned and even some of Dollywood had been on fire. I hope the fire is put out soon. I would say most of those cabins have been reserved for vacations this year. So sad...for the owners loss and the loss of beautiful wildlife.

Thanks Deborah for the website info.

Hugs,

Judy

Traffic can be backed up for 3 hrs. DH and I went a few years ago in late fall and since we went during the week, traffic was light. Lot's of deer. Saw two buck dueling it out. They was a small gift shop. I bought some wildflower seeds from the shop and planted in my yard.

STYX the Band rocks!

Food for thought, no farm no food.

We went a number of years ago. Our favorite experience was visiting the church & going horseback riding. My girls were pretty young at the time. Maybe 6 & 9 but they still remember seeing wild turkeys and a bear.

It's so beautiful there.

I love it there. love the old churches and cemeteries. there is an old mill and a shop. also has several old houses. can sometimes see deer and or bears. the traffic can be pretty backed up so be prepared. I think it is well worth it if it is your first visit to the area.

I have been to Caves Cove. My husband and I spent our honeymoon there in 2009. We went in April and it was nice. There was some traffic but not to much that we minded. Loved the area. We saw a baby bear cub, lots of deer and other wildlife.

If you get the chance I would go. Off season is the best time I feel to go anywhere and that is when we went.
