I found these two at a local thrift store badly in need of a washing. Unfortunately my gentle cycle was not gentle enough. :( Maybe YOU can fix them?! If so, they are all yours!

I'd love to take them and make them new. We donate dolls and stuffed animals to the Police Dept. to give to kids who need them. What would you like to barter? I have material, Ric-rac, simple cotton dishrags and I make jewelry and
Embroider. Please e-mail me. Thanks, Joey

Joey, That sounds perfect. They are yours to mend! PM me to give me your address and there is no need to barter anything but I must admit, I do love embroidery. :) It is one of those things I plan to teach myself one of these days. I love anything homemade, really.

Love,
Rachell

I will tell the Heathers about their new home and future and I just know they are going to be so happy! The good news is, at least they are clean now! They used to be covered in dust and nicotine residue.

I wish I had seen this post earlier. I had a Heather hobby as a child, my Ex husband destroyed some boxes of my childhhod belongings before I could remove them from storage at the house, many years ago. I would have loved to found a replacement. BUT the good thing is it sounds as if they will be going to a good cause. :-)

I still have my Holly Hobby. It's great to see these old toys are still around. I collect Raggedy Ann's. My husband found my old one that the dog chewed on, and when we were out at an antique shop found a couple and got them for me. That was all it took and I look all the time now. I found a very large one for $8.00, needed lots of tlc and it was extremely dirty. I put it in a large pillow case but it came out in the wash and really did a job on it. I need to repair it, but I don't care that it's messed up, it's an original and that it all that matters to me. Glad to see your dolls are going to a good cause.

Yes, she was my favorite dolly and the only one I have left from my childhood! These two I found in Goodwill all dirty and smoke-yellowed. I washed them on gentle but they still fell apart. I think it was the nicotine that caused the fiber to be more brittle than usual. Oh well. At least they are going to be fixed up and given to a good home!
