A few months ago, I inquired about animal fabric. Here is a finished quilt. It was sent to a missionary in Zambia, Africa. Just thought some of you would like to see the finished product. I'm still interested in any animal fabric anyone may have to barter.

Hi MJ Farm Girls,
Thank you for all your comments.
To answer your questions, I met Timothy and Jane Silcott about 12 years ago. They are Evangelist that travel the States. Jane and I met at the church I attended. We became friends and decided to make quilts by mail. We would decided on a pattern and divided it up between even and odd block numbers and then we would each make two identical blocks keep one and send each other to each other. We would each have a quilt almost the same. It all depended on how each of us decided to put the quilt top together.
I had the idea to do a quilt of the Days of Creation. We came up with the plan and I took the odd days and Jane the even days. This is the result of our joint project.
One day a young lady was going around to churches to raise support to go to the mission field. Her name is Michelle Banda. She stayed the night at our house and I showed her the quilt. She thought it would be a great visiual learning tool. Since then, I have made 6 completed ones. Sent to Guam, 2 to Italy, South America, Utah, and this one to Africa. I have another almost ready to go to Mexico.
The size is about 24 inches by 24 inches. The blocks finish at 6 inches. The blue and purple strips finish at 1 inch each. Depending on the language, sometimes, the top row and bottome rows have to be altered. Using a small block at the beginning and a large one at the end. Then the other blocks are just moved accordingly. It still comes out the same size. They fit nicely into a large mailing envelope or a suitcase. Missionaries are limited to what they can take on a plan with them, so I kept it small. There is also a sleeve on the back for a dowel rod or curtain rod to hang them.
The red border is for the blood Jesus shed for all of manknd, the purple for royalty, the blue for heaven, the white heart to show that are hearts are made white as snow after we believe and accept what Jesus has done for us, the different colors used to embroider Adam and Eve are for different skin colors, and of course embroidered on the ground to show God made Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed life into him, then made Eve.
If anyone wants to copy the quilt, by all means do so. Jane and I would be honored to have others make them. It can be difficult to find the fabrics. I keep searching for them all the time. I thought that using cartoon type fabrics would take away from the reason for the quilt.
