Terri, thank you for asking. I am sorry that I haven't checked in sooner but was impacted by the mile wide F4 that hit Bethel Acres and Shawnee. All of my neighbors to our south and east have lost their homes - just piles of rubble. Neighbors across the road lost half their roofs and one has a huge tree in their house. We have no electricity or Internet and cell is spotty. I'm on my phone and hoping this will post. Scariest thing I've ever been through. We were in the cellar and the sounds were just horrible. Have a guy coming to look at our roof and will be cutting up our big, beautiful oak trees that are just twisted sticks on top of our fence. But other than that we are great. Our house is a miracle and you would think so too if you saw what is left of those around us. We have a roof over our heads, have a generator, a camp stove, a well and lots of canned goods. Camping Okie style. Please keep all of the people out here in your thoughts and prayers.

My prayers and thoughts are with you all in Oklahoma. As a survivor of the May 3rd tornado (1999?), I can't imagine what you all are going through with another one like that. ((((hugs))))

Mary Beth, I'm so glad y'all are ok out there. I remember 2 years ago here. It's the scariest thing.

Mary Beth, so glad to know you're ok--safe and sound, but still so much to worry over, especially seeing the destruction first hand of neighboring houses and businesses. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh Mary Beth,
I am so glad to see this post from you!!!!!!!
Thank heavens you and your family are safe. I am praying for everyone affected by this natural disaster, and although your neighbors did loose everything, thank God they are alive. So scary just watching it on television, I can NOT imagine having lived through it.
God Bless everyone affected by this, and if you know of something specific that we can do to help, or who is best to donate etc, please let us know.
Hugs,

~Laurie

Glad to hear from you Mary Beth. From what I can tell the best place to be is in the bath tub. I am so glad you prepared and have food and a generator. You were so smart.

Thanks to all of you. You all are so sweet. Terri, unfortunately, with these two tornadoes especially, underground or in a specially constructed "safe room" was the only safe place to be. Homes were swept right off of their foundations and some were swept completely away. The ones behind us looked like bombs had dropped on them and one brand new home is completely gone, leaving only the concrete foundation. Anyone in those homes would have been taken with them if they had not been in a shelter. We have a tornado shelter that is underground and I can't even describe the horrible sound of the tornado going over us. The thought that we were inside a tornado was just creepy. It was the scariest thing that I've experienced. I've lived a long time in Oklahoma and this is the closest I've ever come to a tornado.

Oh Mary Beth; I am praying for all of your fellow Okies. I have been so impressed with all of the interviews from locals, all willing to pitch in & do the work needed, not waiting for govt help, but rolling up sleeves, & helping their fellow man.. & hats off to Kevin Durant!!!!

Hi Mary Beth! I'm just so thankful to hear you are okay. Whenever I hear Oklahoma on the news, you're the first one I think of and pray for! It's so hard to comprehend the devastation as the images pass the screen. I can't even imagine what people must be going through, but it is absolutely amazing and inspirational to see everyone pulling together as they are and to hear all the testimonies of prayer and see the incredible faith in the midst of all of this. Please know all of us here are all praying for everyone out there. God love and bless you all - Nini

Mary Beth,
Thankful you are ok. Our church just took supplies to Ok yesterday. We are about 2 hrs away from Moore here in Wichita. Having gone thru our own tornado the day before (thankfully ours pulled back up into Tstorm clouds before actually hitting the city area), everyone here desires to help all they can.
We are ok here, mild-moderate damages that are fixable!
Prayers that this tornado season lessens and is over soon.

Mary Beth, let us know of ways we can help Ok

Blessings,
Linda
