Picked a bunch of apples last week and need to use the rest before they go bad - was going to make something to bring into work and looking for ideas & recipes! I'd like something that uses fresh apples (not an apple product, like applesauce) and is easy to serve/snack on since I'm taking it to leave in the break room... so less pie-like and maybe more bar-like?

Lyndell, I have not tried this but it sounded easy & good.
Apple Crisp from 'Food that Really Schmecks', a Mennonite cookbook.
8 apples, sliced & peeled 1/2 cup white or brown sugar 1 Tsp. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt
Topping: 3/4 c flour or rolled oats 1 c brown sugar 1/4 c melted butter
Combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt - mix with the sliced apples.
Put all in a greased baking dish and cover with the topping which you have rubbed into crumbs.
Bake in 375 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until the is nicely browned and the apples are soft.
