Martha Stewart Cooking School on PBS. Bring enough water to 140 degrees to cover meat/frozen food. Let stand for 30 minutes.

So far the only things I have defrosted with this method are stew meat & meaty soup bones. Defrosted just like Martha said it would. Don't know how it will work on a roast or whole chicken.
