Kittens!!!!! 4 of them! I was getting out my christmas tree (yes I have a fake one!) and 4 little kittens went scurrying around. I caught them and brought them inside and played with them a little while. Two are all black and one is black with a white face, chest and paws. There is one white one that has a light brown face and grey ears and a grey tail that is SOOOOO cute.I definatly want to hang on to that one! I brought food out to Mama in the shed and took kitties back out to her after I played for a while. I am so excited! We had two kittens earlier this summer but they had climbed up inside the farm truck and...well. I bet you can guess the rest of the story. Mama was smart this time - the shed is a really good place for them. I'll get some pics later to post. My camera battery is dead right now.

What a fun surprize. We had a mama cat one time that insisted on having her kittens up in the rafters of the garage..yikes..I had visions of the poor little things falling to their death on the cement floor! We would move them to a lower location and she would move them back..over and over..she wasn't as smart as your cat! Then finally we gave up..they all grew up just fine..good climbers too!! Have fun with the new kitties!!

Well our cat isn't too smart because onetime she had her kittens under the car!!!! We didn't notice them until we backed out and they were in a little pile! UNHURT! We moved them into the barn. She is learning!

I love kittens, esp. little ones... Unfortunately we have eight right now, so new babies are out of the question... but every year, I get those maternal urges to get a new kittie! *sigh*

What a great surprise! You can give them Christmas names, perhaps? I just love love love kittens. (My husband says the trouble with kittens is that they grow up to be cats, but what does he know???!) |

I love cats! My beloved little tuxedo girl fur-child recently succumbed to an illness...I was fortunate to have had her company for 11 years, and the loss feels immense, so reading about lively little kittens, and the joy people take in kittens and cats makes me smile, a reminder of the circles of life all around us. I look forward to seeing the photographs. peapodjane |

Hmmmmm! How about Coal for one of the black kittens? Though of course that little lump of Coal would be fun to find in a stocking! The little black and white one makes me think of Frosty the Snowman, like a little snow kitty with a black jacket on. Eggnog is a cute name! Also, thought of Nutmeg, Cloves, Licorice, Jingle (for one of the little black kittens)oh, and Bell or Star. I actually love names, and have since I was young, wish there was a job that just involved naming! LOL! peapodjane |

Peapod our last name is Kohl so we have actually had a cat named Coal Kohl before. I don't like to reuse names but I love Licorice so I am definatly using that one! I've posted pics of Eggnog on my blog. you can see it on my website (see link below) and click on the What I've Been Up To link in the left bar.

Oh, I'm so happy that one of the names rang true for you...I definitely understand what you mean about reusing names. As I had posted previously, I am grieving the loss of one of my cats, and I would not name another pet the same name, as it was her name. Your photes of Eggnog are so sweet...she looks (Dare I Say) delicious! LOL! peapodjane |

Oh...my heart melts...I haven't had a kittie for about 10 years. My daughter was so allergic she would have asthma attacks. But oh that eggnog looks so sweet... Bonnie

Thanks guys. I just love her. She warms my heart so much!
Peapod I decided to modify the name a little and I am going to go with Charcoal. My sis suggested that and since I teach art I thought it was perfect!
So now we have Eggnog, Licorice and Charcoal. I still need one more name and this cat is a meanie!!!! I haven't been able to touch it yet cause she hisses and growls and swings at you. She has her mamas personality! So I'm looing for a real spitfire name! Any other suggestions?

Oh Erin, Turkey Pot Pie! LOL!!! Maybe Abomidable (Abby) as in Snowman!or Grinch. How about Claudia (CLAWdia)...But maybe a calming name would help calm her. I do like Pepper-mint...Is she the one with the black with a white face kitten? Pepper-mint really seems appropriate. peapodjane |

Julie- I love the kitties, are you keeping all of them? I have developed cat allergies in the past few years of epic proportions sadly. I remember what fun we had with them growing up. My SIL always seems to get cats with cranky dispositions and they have had some names to go with them! Fang, Ho Chi Minh, Cat-astrophe, Catywhompus, and my all time favorite Catapult! (Now you are wondering about that side of the family aren't you?!!!) On the other hand we have had a whole family of Candy Bar Cats: Mars Bar, Snickers, Kit Kat and JuJubee! Maybe a sweet name will sweeten her up! MIL had a cat for 20 years named JingleBell because she came at this time of year. Have fun with them no matter what you name them!
with a happy heart |
