Krista~ The knitting is coming along good. I have a few more rows on this project and I don't know if I have my three hours yet so I am going to do something else to make sure I get it in. Then I am hoping to move on to the next level. I am really enjoying it!

Denise, I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your knitting and that you are so close to completing your badge. What do you plan on making additionally?

And I did it!! I have completed my first crocheting project. I made my little man a cute blue and black scarf. It fits him perfect and he loves it! Now I am going to finish crocheting my washcloth and then I can apply for the beginner level crochet merit badge. I am super excited!

Denise - I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the knitting! Good luck on your badges.

Krista - I struggle with crocheting too tight usually. It does get better with practice. I had that problem with knitting too. Cables helped me with that because the stitches were so tight I couldn't even do the cables after so many rows.

CJ - I love how you've done your badges. I really like the buttons. Thank you for sharing about the backing too.

Joan - I haven't figured out exactly how I plan to display mine yet but I have them embroidered.

I finished a crochet ear warmer project and it turned out pretty but it is too big for my head. Ha ha. I need to finish the flower yet. That was a lot of trial and error on that flower but I got it, finally!

And, they are listed in the Merit Badge list. Hoping to be able to apply for the Apple Beginner badge here soon . . .it wasn't in the "application" list yet.

Justine,
Your ear warmer is beautiful. I have one of those that was made for me but find that it doesn't keep my ears warm in really cold weather. I have to use earmuffs with Thinsulate insulation and they're getting hard to find!

I too was excited to see the new badges listed in our February Newsletter. Lots of great topics to consider!

Congratulations, Krista on your new crocheting project. Your scarf turned out very pretty all wrapped around your smiling little guy!!

Justine, your ear warmer is very cute with the darling flower accessory. Perhaps it would fit better for someone with really thick hair? If not, it was a good learning experience and next time you can adjust your gauge for a better fit.

I recently finished up three badges
know your roots, language and relaxation.
am about to finish up a couple more, pampered pets, and quilting.
got to get to work decorating the badges. I like to embroidery and use fabric paint and cute buttons on mine. need to take photos of them. I have the problem running out of space! I have been putting badges on a jean jacket and now only enough space for two more. guess will get a big bag and start putting ones yet to complete on it. this is more fun than when I was a girl scout.. many years ago.

Krista, Your scarf came out great and your little model is adorable! What a cutie.

Justine, Your ear warmer is pretty and the flower adds such a sweet touch! Love those but have never crocheted one myself.

I decided to use a teal color yarn for my knitting project so I will be getting that tomorrow. I will get started probably the end of the week. Things have gotten busy around here just now.

I applied for my beginner level knitting badge. I did dishcloths. Two are the same heart pattern and then I did a raised diamond pattern in variegated cotton and also did a bee skep pattern on the last one. I wanted to make sure and get my time requirement in for this level.

I like the new UFO badge. All the ladies on the Finish Your UFOs in 2016 thread are excited about it. I might spend 30 hours just listing my UFO collection. LOL

I plan to make my badges into a hex shaped wall hanging. I cannot run out of space with this because I just keep adding to it. I just may do a different craft technique on each one. I'm not certain.

Way to go Teresa! You are just knocking those badges out!

Thank you Denise! Teal is such a great color. Hopefully you can get some time to sit back, relax, and knit. Are your dishcloths actually in the shape of a heart?

Marie, your wall hanging idea is such a good idea. All you need is a big empty wall and you can just keep expanding as you get more and more. It’s a great way to showcase your work to all your guests.

Embroidering badges is going to be my next project too, Denise (once I finish crocheting dishcloths, and finish up my wristwarmers, and...)
