| Hello! I grew up in rural Illinois, but have spent the past decade in the city. I am ready to return to my rural roots and this is the perfect place for me to get started. I am so excited to learn so many skills that I've put off because city life has kept me busy. |

Welcome to the Farm, Nicole, from sunny Florida! Are you now living in a rural place or planning to do so soon? One thing I love about MJF is that location is not a prerequisite for being a full blown Farmgirl. One of the first things I did when I joined was to get myself an apron and start wearing it in the kitchen. We are an apron loving group!! MaryJanes books are also on sale this month and her Ideas book was the most helpful book in helping me find my won Farmgirl Heart. I am looking forward to hearing what projects you get started on and I hope you will share your adventures with us!

My plan is to move back downstate around this time next year and eventually set up our own little homestead in the country. I've always been interested in gardening and fiber crafts, but there are so many new things I want/need to learn. I cannot wait to start earning merit badges and sharing my projects with everyone here!

Welcome Nicole! My aunt lives in New Burnside and enjoys a rural life there in Illinois :) I love how God calls people back to their rural roots! Looking forward to seeing you here on the Farm!

Good morning Nicole. And welcome! You know what they say, dream your farm and it will come. I look forward to following your journey and approving your Merit Badges.
While in Chicago a few years ago, I visited what is the only agricultural high school in the country. It was impressive and the students were fabulous. They had every kind of animal they worked with and they learned sewing and things like cheese making and they even had to start a pretend farm business.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I rarely have anyone to chat with who shares my interests in crafting and DIY, so it's been overwhelming (in a good way) to poke around and see how supportive and connected you all are. I finally got the Ideabook to start planning the merit badges I want to work on as soon as Christmas is behind me. I am making a huge granny square afghan as a gift and that's taking up all my time (270 4" granny squares make a HUGE blanket!).
