I wasn't sure where to post this to get a little advice. My shower gets used several times a day and many soaps, shampoos, conditioners get used in it. So I have this soap scum that I can't seem to get rid of completely. I do spray bleach around for mold/mildew several times a week and I have tried Lime Away- but really didn't like that at all. So I am hoping someone can give me some tips for getting reid of as quick and easy as possible. I hate how dull my shower looks all the time and we only use my shower, not the full tub shower so it is sparkely clean all the time. Thanks Gals!! ~Liz |

Liz, I used scouring powder and a scrubber sponge when it got out of hand. I know, YUCK! However, my on-going advise is to fill an old empty spray bottle with straight white vinegar, and spray down the shower regularly, then use a quick swipe with the scrubber. I've read that the vinegar should be hot, but that isn't practical for me; I wouldn't go ahead and do it if I had to heat the vinegar each time. This works for me. Best of luck! Ann

| Thank you so much for the great tips, as much as our shower gets used I will probably be trying each of these out soon. We have a 2nd bathroom with a tub/shower, but we only use my stand shower because it's habit. I used to use CLR in CA every motnh or so but my girls are so sensitive to anything strange such as harsh chems so I'd rather not use that. Thanks!!! |

What about adding some Tree Tea essential oil to the vinegar for it's anti-fungal properties? That should keep the mold at bay.

I think it depends on your water. Do you have alot of minerals and is your water considered "hard"? I have municipal water that has been treated somewhat but we seem to have a calcium problem though our water is not "soft". Baking soda and /or vinegar are nice cleaners without alot of fumes and your tub will be nice and shiny.
