Last summer my hubby and my dad and I was out on the lake in our boat fishing. It's a huge lake and we don't live far from it so come warm weather we're fishing every weekend. It was about midnight and I could barely see my line wiggling around with the lantern, I reeled it in and at first I couldn't figure out what in the world it was, I thought a frog at first cause it was all wrapped around the line in such an odd fashion. Finally, I seen what it was. We couldn't get him off in one piece , because he was so wrapped up. I must have clothes lined him in mid air when I cast my line out. Poor thing, although I'm not fond of them. Can you tell what he is???? lol p.s. photo was taken with my cell phone so it's not the best. You can barely see my fishing line on either side of the critter. ~~Blessings, Mikki

Yep, it sure is a BATTTT! I was beside myself, I passed the line to my dad so he could see. After I yelled it's a BATTT, he said "Let me see that", I know he didnt believe me. He said "Well by golly, I've fished from the East to the West and North to South and I've never nor heard tell of any one to catch a bat". lol It sure was a funny site. ~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

Awww ...Tina I love bats too. They eat mosquitoes and I HATE mosquitoes. They are very lovely creatures. You can however run Husband up a tree with a bat! Of course he doesnt like snakes or my lovely tarantula Luigi either. And I adore mice as well.

I love bats, too. Anything that eats mosquitos is ok in my book! I was out fishing with my dad & my boyfriend one night, and they were swooping around the boat. My boyfriend thought he might have hit one when he tried to cast, but it never got hooked. Whew! Jennifer |

We have bats at my place - well, not really AT my place, but in the big trees around here, and I love to watch them - we also have about a trillion (at least) mosquitos, so I know they must be some of the most well-fed little ones around, but, in all of my practice flycasting, and in my years fishing, I have NEVER heard of anyone hooking one! That's the craziest thing! I think, even though I'm not really prone to fainting, that I just might have, if I caught one, Mikki!!! Thanks for the photo and the tale - WOW!
XOXO, Libbie
