We signed papers today. We are proud owners of 4.5 acres in East Texas. It has a 1680ft ranch house, pole barn, green house and lots and lots of trees. The kitchen is twice the size of our old kitchen. 3 bd, 2 bath. The stove is electric but doesn't have the smooth cook, top which I prefer. I love my cast iron.

I didn't mention it before because there were contingency issues with the first buyer. Lucky for us they backed out.

I will post pictures when I can. So Excited. Now moving our stuff for the second time this year. Arph!

Thanks Sara,
I am 68 miles directly South of your town. We bought in Quitman, Tx. We are just a hop from Lake Fork.

The only bummer is the closest Starbucks is 28 miles away. I guess I will have to buy an expresso machine.

Congratulations on your move to Texas! We lived in Longview for many years. I loved it so and still miss it dearly. There was a wonderful quilt shop in Quitman if you are interested in that. I'm sure you will be very happy there.

My sister in law and her husband surprised us yesterday with these rockers for a home warming gift. They came in a kit and my BIL built them. I was so touched I welled up but I bit my lip and gotta grip. I did give them both a huge big bear hug. I had to tease him though there was no bored out hole for my long neck beer bottle and no rack in the back for my Browning. I think I am going to stencil in gold my nick name "Tumbleweed".

Nancy what a wonderful gift. Happy rocking! Can't have too many rocking chairs on your beautiful front porch.

I had a neighbor who was a WWII war bride from England. She said "she would never understand Texans and their love of rocking chairs".

Great rockers. Nancy I suppose you remember your promise to learn to cook. This bigger kitchen means you have to honor your word. Cookin is fun girl---learn a new trick. Become a master chef.

Ahhh!!!

I am so blessed. Spent the first night in our new home. Didn't realize how dark it gets in the country. When we got back to my MILs home today there was a package waiting for me from my bestie in Minnesota.

I opened it and found all kinds of goodies. At the bottom was something totally awesome. My BFF bought a chuck wagon dinner bell for me to put outside my hobby farm kitchen door. I wouldn't trade her in for the world. Besides, as my partner in crime she knows where I buried all the bodies. Can't have her blabbing that all over Facebook. Just kiddin' with some Halloween Humor.

I love Halloween humor Nancy---anyway I think I was Lizzie Borden in a past life---almost sure of it---or have I been watching too many scary movies lately. Plus this is sure a scary, dark holler. LOL. Have great fun in your new house.
