I am so excited! I am having lasiks surgery on Friday! My eyes were great as a kid and then the last few years I started having problems reading estate and garage sale signs . . . a huge problem for an antique junkie like me! My birthday is March 25 and my drivers license expires that day . . . I knew I wouldn't pass the vision test! So I pondered glasses, but though about how many years and perscriptions that would be . . . and the fact that over the years it would cost just as much in the end . . . and the fact the glasses always sit crooked on me (not sure if my nose is crooked or if one ear is higher ?!) Anyway, lasiks is now down to $2200 and as long as you do annual check-ups, it is a lifetime guarantee. It is painless . . . just a little scratchy eyes and sleepiness (I guess they give you vallium so that the lack of blinking and fingers in your eye won't wig you out!)

Anyway, I am so excited! I keep joking with my kids and husband that I will finally get to see what they look like! LOL!

Brenda, that is exciting! I'm anxious to hear how it goes for you. Where are you getting it done? There's a guy in Seattle that folks travel from other countries to see...

I've often wondered about having it done, as glasses have become so inconvenient...do they do bifocal lasik?

I am having it done at one of the Restore Vision Centers. This one is in Spokane. They are based out of Renton (a suburb of Seattle) but are all over the Northwest. They seem to have a good rep. I am so excited . . . it's Friday, 8:48 am . . . the lasiks is at 1 pm. On the final countdown! So exciting!!
