Hi, Krista! It has been fun so far! I am actually learning some new skills (I have been sewing for over 65 years and am still learning new things!) I can't wait to finish it. I have been trying to work on it a bit every time I sew. It will be so nice to wear to the rink!

Nancy, my oldest is joining a street hockey team this fall. I am super excited to watch his games. Thankfully I wont be freezing like in a rink lol! I guess if he continues and decides to do ice hockey, I will be needing one of those jackets too!

Ice hockey has been so much fun! My Grandson, Damien, is moving to New Jersey at the beginning of September to play for an NA3HL Junior Team, the Garden State Gamblers. He is a goalie and doing quite well. We are so happy for him to get to go as far as he wants to in the sport! Good luck to your oldest!

Thanks, Krista! He is really getting excited. Last night was his last night at his job. This morning he said that he was feeling "like a bum" because he has no job! Then he smiled the biggest smile! I think that he is beginning to realize that his future is up to him and how hard he is willing to work. I am including a photo of Damien and one of the day that I quilted the fabric I made for my jacket.

Thanks, Girls! I. too, love purple and . . .I am old! It has been a real adventure making this jacket. I decided to make my own quilted fabric. I drew out the pattern. Then I learned how to make bias tape, so that I could finish all of the edges inside. It will look great when I can finish it! I keep working on it bit by bit. It will be done soon, but I have to work around getting other quilts finished and . . .oh, those UFOs!!! Not to mention day-to-day chores and life in general! But being retired is so great!

Nancy, I am old too, 71, and I have loved purple for as long as Ivan remember. My hair is purple and most of my clothes! Plus you girls make me want to finish some of my projects too. Tomorrow is a new day:-)

Hi, Debbie! I am 73 with white hair. I love it! I love to wear purple! I am going to continue to complete the UFOs. My goal is to get rid of the bin they are stored in by my birthday in February. I'm working diligently toward that goal. The problem is that every time I open another box or bin, I find another one of the little creations staring me in the face! Well, one step at a time! Or is it project?

Nancy, what a great picture! I bet he will do amazing things. Your purple quilt is stunning! I cant wait to see the jacket finished!

Debbie, I love that you have purple hair! I love putting purple and lime green streaks in my hair! This last time I did orange and let's just say its not fading well lol. I have an awful yellow color now. I miss my purple and green!

Thanks, Krista! I can't wait to see the jacket finished either! I have developed a kind of system so that I do not end up with any more UFOs than I already have. I work on one new project, one existing project, and one UFO during the week. That way , as I finish my UFOs, I will be continuing to work on new things. Some projects take longer than others so I always seem to have an "in progress" one going. It is helping me to finish things as I go and not have any that end up in the UFO bin! Seems to be working out fairly well so far!
