Vanessa I hope you do well at the fair.
I've been making 3-yard quilts for charity and have been lazy about taking pictures and posting.

The Paris quilt got 3rd place. I am content with that, since it was a labor of love. I also entered my purple quilt, but no ribbon. I plan to donate it or another quilt to a fundraiser. Can't let them pile up and not get used!
On the culinary front, my rum bundt cake got a blue ribbon, as well as my cornbread sticks.

I love everyone’s projects. I’m working on several things right now. This Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt is capturing my attention at the moment.

It's going to be beautiful Marcy. I made a lot of those hexies so I can appreciate the time spent on them.

Having a great time in my sewing room for the last couple of weeks. Very hot here in Southern California. I have finished piecing two throw quilts and gotten everything ready to take them to the shop where I can use the longarm to quilt them. Worked on some squares for a scrap quilt and some cloth books for my new Great Grandson. Fun times here!

Thanks, Krista! I have been very busy. But, I am having so much fun! I love to sew! Next I have a quilted jacket that I had set aside for a little bit. I am making it to wear to hockey games. I pieced the fabric for the jacket and quilted it. It is all cut out and ready to go. I didn't know how to make bias tape, but I now have that skill worked out. Time to start assembly and binding each seam with bias tape. It will be reversible if I want to wear it that way. I can't wait to finish it! Plus, I need to get going on Christmas sewing! Thank goodness I really do love to sew!

Nancy -

What pattern are you using for your quilted jacket. I've seen a lot of them and it is hard to choose.

Hi, Linda! The jacket pattern that I am using is from Sewillow (www.sewillow.com). It is called "The Omilla Hooded Quilt Coat". It is sewing pattern No. 0025. It is sized for 6 - 24(UK) which is 2 - 20(US). I really like it. It has a great hood and pockets. It can be made to be reversible. It is longer than the regular quilted jacket patterns, but I am planning on using it when I go to the hockey rink. . .and we are there all the time. It is also pictured with a belt-tie. It it very versatile as far as I am concerned. I really like the added length it has. Hope that you like it, too!

Thank you, Nancy. I will take a look at that pattern.

Are you making it from scratch, or are you using an already made Quilt? I have a Quilt that I got at estate sale that I was thinking of making a jacket with.

Hi, Linda! I am making it from scratch. I love to sew and quilt, so it seemed logical to just make my own fabric. I couldn't find anything that didn't look childish. The used quilts that I found at the thrift store didn't leave me enough places to cut what I needed. I have had a really great time working on it. Since I made the fabric, I also got to practice with the long-arm to quilt it! Lots of fun being had! I hope that you like the pattern. It will be so useful for me. My sister made one from the same pattern. She used dark colors and it is very pretty. Me? I went with purples! Crazy me! Let me know if you decide to use the pattern. We can share photos of our creations when we finish.

I made a strip pieced jacket on a sweatshirt and when it was done, I don't like the fit. I may never wear it. LOL! The sweatshirt fit fine, even a little big, but the jacket is too tight under the arms. UGH!
