I've been MIA for a while. Between some health issues and family issues it has been a hard year. While trying to heal mentally and physical I worked on this quilt. Just finished it.

My tribute to my dear brother. When he was a young man, he took to the rails and lived the hobo life for a while. This quilt is an adaptation of the Hobo Code. The back is a railroad map of the US

Krista,
I invested in the 'light board' and it made a "world" of difference. I have finished my diamond painting project!

Oh Coni, I am so glad it worked great for you! Your diamond painting is beautiful!

Theresa, diamond paintings are a lot of fun! I have done about 5 of them so far and have one half done and one not even started. I personally don't think they are expensive. I can typically find some pretty cheap ones on Amazon. They come in many different sizes. You could always try a small one first to see if you like them.

@atkinst2 a.k.a. Theresa,
I love diamond painting! You can find them at Hobby Lobby, Joann's, Michael's, and Amazon, but Temu (if you trust them) is the least expensive. On Temu they will run around $5, some $10. The kit comes with the sticky pre-printed canvas, diamonds (beads), a tray, and a stylus. The Solar System in my post above was from Joann's and it was actually kind of expensive. Around $20+, I think. But I did it for my niece, so it was worth it. I am now working on a version of van Gogh's Irises for my primary care physician and longtime friend. He loves irises and raises many varieties. It came from Michael's. you can even get some small things, like drink coasters or key chains, if you want to try it before jumping in on a full-size canvas. Just google diamond painting and be inspired!

Blessings,
Coni

Oh Theresa, make sure you have something to store your diamonds (beads) in. You will want to keep each color separate. It will help you stay organized.

Grace, I have two Siamese, so I know what you are saying. I will have to do the Diamond Painting behind closed doors for sure and for certain.

Karen what cute snowmen! I need a crafters retreat how fun!

I just finished my 8 Christmas stocking ornaments I made for family. I usually buy them an ornament every year but decided to make some with a stash busting pattern. I shared them with coworkers and friends and now it looks like I'll have to make some more!

Today (or tomorrow) I'm working on the swap block for my quilting group and my UFO projects for the same group. The block is a complicated (LOTS of pieces) house block and I need to put borders on a row quilt. I'll post tomorrow when I hopefully finish.
