This WACAL gal is gonna be MIA until the end of the month.. Going to visit family and friends and get some beach time in, in California...
SO I will be sporadic posting on here..
Whish you all could go to the beach with me... fresh Tacos and Margaritas on the Patio..
Laughing our fannies off about our younger selves..
I am looking forward to time with my crazy sister and meeting up with some old High School friends..
So until I return,, Happy Trails and Happy Summer days.

Jenn, heading home to Ventura County, primarily Newbury Park.. then head over to Fresno, then Oakhurst… inot sure we can go up to Sonora, I have a cousin there…
We only have 2 weeks for this trip.
Are you still in Sonora or are you in Idaho?

Grace, I'm 75% still in Sonora. Making frequent trips to Grangeville, ID as my parents need me and time / work allows. Who's your friend in Sonora?!?! I've been here 40+ years so my roots are deep and acquaintances are many!

Grace I know you will have a good time with your sister in CA, I am leaving in a few days to visit my sister in CA too! It has been a couple of years since I have seen her because of covid. We have such a great time, out by the pool, reading having some cocktails, she has some great thrift stores around her to that we will be visiting. She lives closer to Tahoe CA. Sounds like you will be able to see other family and friends which is always nice. Have a great time.

Hi to all my FG sisters,,
Well, I was supposed to leave for California Aug 14th to spend the rest of the month with family and friends,, had a few hic-ups, a broken tooth that I had to get a Crown on, and hubby hurt his back working on the Tractor... so,, we rescheduled for the 21st,, but alas, that got cancelled due to the "Gray Fires" here in Medical Lake, WA.
First let me say,, we are safe,, we live on the outskirts of town, literally 4 miles from the fires as the crow flies.
Friday was a Level-3 Evacuation... Because we were safe thus far, unless the winds changed, we were L-2...
The winds did change directions several times, kinda scary, didn't sleep well.
I had several friends park their RV's over night here until they could contact family and went there.
We kept in close contact with several friends who were also. L-2, ..
Our daughter is in France, so we have been staying close to home, talking daily with the house sitter.. pet kennels ready and the trailer ready for the goats and piggy.
Currently HWY-90 at Airway Heights is closed off for about a 30mile stretch.. nothing in, nothing out unless they take HWY-2 up to Reason and over to Edwal and then back over toward Sprague, where there is also a fire..
Actually there are several fires around us,, and then we are also getting the smoke from the Canadian fires, 3 hours North of us.
Long story short,, The communities around us are so kind, helping and and donating, volunteer animal rescues.. ... Our Walmart, stayed open over night with a very skeleton crew to accommodate the evacuees, to buy essentials and use the bathrooms.. I saw that Firday night the parking lot was quite full with RV's, even cars with people sleeping in their cars.
Parts of town just got power back, still spotted cell due to 2 Towers being caught/destroyed in the fires.
All of Medical Lake is on a "Boil Water before drinking" alert.
We have been wetting and wearing our 'COVID mask' (to go outside) because the air is so very bad, right now, worst in the nation.

When adversity strikes a community, the out pouring of love and help is beyond heartfelt warming.
We continue to pray for Maui HI, for our small town and surrounding towns as well as Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and California who are engulfed in fires.
I checked in on my sister, who I was supposed to be with right now, as they're currently getting hammered with rains from Hurricane Hillary..

Grace, I am so relieved that you are OK at this moment!! It is heartwarming about all the support your area is getting from neighbors and WalMart. I hope and pray that all of your area including the states and places you mentioned will not be destroyed. So many homes and livelihoods are at risk! Please stay safe and God Bless everyone out there including all of the wild critters and birds.
