AAACK! the grasshoppers have arrived as well as the aphid!
Dang-it!

But on the plus side, the ants are having a feed-fest with the aphids!
Now I need to ward off the 'Hoppers!

I can't remember where I saw it, but someone got some ducks and they took care of the grasshoppers!

Ducks would be great but we have no source (pond) of water on our 13 acres.. I would have to put a pool out for them,, trouble is, we have several Eagles near by and they fly over our property in search of food,, I would be devastated if one of my ducks became 'kibbles' for the Eagles,,,
So if anyone wants some grasshoppers for fishing bait,, come on over! lol!

Sorry to hear that, Grace! Hang in there. Would chickens help? Ducks are a lot of work! :) Especially in the winter.

Same problem with chickens, twix the Eagles and the owls,, chickens would become kibbles and bits unless I want to spen a crazy amount of $$ on a chicken/duck fortress ... lol!
Since I don't use pesticides.. I will just have to be more diligent and keep things watered well.. the Hoopers don't seem to like the dampness,, they seem to gravitate to the dryer areas of my property and garden...
On the plus side,, they don't seem to bother my strawberries which I am now picking ! yay!

Grace, enjoy your strawberries. I haven't seen a grasshopper this year. Hopefully if they do show up the mockingbirds will take care of them.

Darn it Grace! Those dang grasshoppers can cause a mess. Get you some seagulls lol! They eat grasshoppers. I am not sure how you would "keep" them, but I know they would work.

Just found my first grasshopper today. As you can see, he is having a feast on my flower petals.
