So, I have been mia because of my cataract surgery that hasn’t gone as well as I expected…(I have a tendency to be impatient) …
That being said, I have a dear Idaho friend who finally got tired of hearing me, whine and sniffle… And finally gave me the swift kick in my panties that I needed…
She reminded me that I should be grateful for my blessings… that it could be worse… reminded me of her own health issues…. A good friend doesn’t sugar coat things !
I am grateful to her for her friendship and her honesty and that swift kick in the tuschi that I needed.
So forgive me, for not visiting here, I do miss you all…

On the plus side, turns out I had an infection behind my retina and now am on medication..
In December I will have the other eye surgery, fingers crossed it will go better, ,,
So, time to put my ‘big girl panties on and get over it! and maybe have a glass of wine so I won’t whine!

For now I am back in my messy craft room and finishing up some UFO’s …
Happy Autumn
And hugz to you, my Idaho friend who keeps me grounded…

Happy to see you back Grace. I had cataract surgery in both eyes several years ago and had problems in both eyes that left me legally blind for 9 months until they got it all fixed. Most people sail through cataract surgery with no problems and refer to it as a miracle. Then there are those few of us troublemakers.....

Oh Judith, amen!… We troublemakers stick together…
But I will say one thing the brightness in colors is incredible. Even though I walk around squinting half the time because I still can’t see out of my other eye.

For me, it’s also about being impatient and hating to be dependent on someone else…
I lovingly joke about my husband, I refer to him as ““ driving Miss Daisy “” because I can not see well enough to drive.. uugh! I feel like my wings have been clipped… but I need to get out of my head, and keep busy with the things I can do!

Thank goodness for big girl panties, a glass of wine, and friends who tell me to get over it.

Oh yes -- the colors and the light and being able to drive at night again. Poor DH had to drive me around for 9 months and then had to watch over me for six months of chemo. I hate being dependent too but it happens sometimes and I am eternally grateful that there is someone around to help.

Gracie, sorry you've had issues with your eyes. Hopefully the next one will be smooth and trouble free.urg
My hubby and I have both had cataract surgeries and, they went very well iwithout issue. I also have glaucoma and has surgery to help with that in my left eye. Right eye didn't need it. But, eyes are so very, very important!!!
Take care of yourself!
Hugs!

CeeJay, 99% of the people I have spoken with have had good results... unfortunately I have scaring from RK surgery over 20 years ago, plus mild macular Degeneration and a macular pucker in my left eye and to top it off I have Fuchs disease.. with my luck, I should buy a Lottery ticket! lol!

Wow! Glaucoma too? .. so glad you had very good results with your surgeries.
We are blessed to have the medical science to repair these issues.. can you imagine 150 years ago?,,

Grace! I'm so happy you have found your big girl panties! Boy howdy, we are all guilty of stuffing them in the very back of our drawers and forgetting about them. You're in good company! I'm happy to hear you have a good friend to serve that swift kick in the back side when needed. That truly is a true friend. I have a friend like that as well, she never sugar coats ANYTHING! But, that is what I love and appreciate about her. On a serious note: I'm sorry to hear about your infection, gosh darn it, we certainly never want to experience any additional setbacks when we're facing any kind of surgery. Huge hugs to you and get well wishes! And, remember; you can turn those big girl panties inside out so you may sport them a second day in a row!! XO

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Grace! I'm glad your friend kicked you back this way though. We've missed you and your humor :) Isn't it funny how much we always want to help others but sure hate it when others have to help us?

Grace, I am so very sorry to hear about your eye issues, but you know I have missed your terribly and I am happy to have you back! I hope your next surgery will be smooth sailing. Having eye sight changes is a very scary thing. I don't blame you for feeling frustrated. Big hugs to you!
