A friend of mine is wanting a birthday card for a little friend of hers and I am working mentally on that at the moment.
The child likes soccer, improvisational dancing, gymnastics and Frozen, I am trying to incorporate it all into the card we shall see what happens.

I will take a picture when I am done with it.

Take care

On Sunday I managed to finish piecing all of the the blocks for Ring Toss. I managed to get as far as laying a few on the design wall!

I was going to work on the layout last night, but I became distracted! I used the telephone! lol This is it so far!

Not sure if I'll work on it tonight. Sort of in the mood to do some hand work. It's the story of my quilting life .... all these various projects vie for my attention! lol

So what are you working on?

Ohhhhhh Carole, that is going to be gorgeous. I love the colors, can't wait to see it finished. It has been a super long day, so no handwork tonight just having a cup of tea and soon to find my bed. Sherry, please share your projects with everyone, they are beautiful too!

Thanks Julie! Glad you made it back safely! I bet you are beat! Take care of yourself!

Sherry, please do share your work. You do such beautiful work!

Myself, I started to work on knitting socks, then changed my mind. I decided to work on my wool and cotton quilt - "Beauty all around". I have 240 of these little circle blocks to stitch. What you see is what's left!

All while I am watching a NASA documentary - NASA's Unexplained Files! Love that kind of stuff!

Won't you join me in a crafting bee?

Catch you later! Cheers!

I'm working on some embroidery on place mats for a swap on the big site. I found blue and white plaid homespun mats at the thrift store and I'm jazzing them up with red star-stitch, running stitch and cross-stitch. I'm also knitting washcloths in basket weave stitch (thanks for all your encouragement, Julie!) I love seeing the quilting projects you're all working on. I so want to make a quilt someday!

Happy Day!

I am working on a birthday card and think I have it figured out.
Carole that circle one are those small squares or a huge quilt? That is going to be pretty, how does it work out with the two kinds of materials.

Amy I bet your place mats are going to be neat with the red stitching on the blue and white mats.

Maybe be sometime we could make squares for a baby quilt and donate it. I don't quilt much but I would like to try again sometime.

hugs

I love the idea of working on some kind of communal project, like the baby quilt Darlene suggested. It would be a fun project for the winter, when the outside chores lighten up some. Would anyone else be interested?

Thank you ladies for your kind words.

Darlene, I'm presently working on the sashing. The squares measure 3.5" (unfinished) and the black dot is wool. What's really neat about it is that I'm using all scraps to make the sashing. So most of the fabrics you'll see was used in one of my quilts. Because I am working with wool on cotton I used a fusible - Heat n bond feather lite. When I work wool on wool, I do not use a fusible. Want to see block 1?

Has anyone worked with wool? It really is simple. A great portable project too!

I tend to work on a few projects at the same time ... makes things interesting. Yes, I have a UFO list! lol

That block is beautiful, Carole! Is the wool you're working with like a wool flannel? The colors are so autumn-y, I just love it!

Thanks Amy. I work with hand dyed 100% wool. I haven't worked much with flannel.

The block is great! Yes, I love working with wool. It can be addictive. I belong to a wool club called muddy sheep and we meet every other month. The projects keep us working with wool while it is not too overwhelming.
It is fun to work on communal projects too. Maybe in the winter.

The Amish always work together on that type of thing.... especially quilting, and i've longed to find a group of ladies I could share with, doing soothing like that! Sadly, still searching!
