I desperately need a new dehydrator. Mine was already in pretty rough shape before we moved, but the movers KILLED it!!! I've debated just buying a new frame for it, but it is just about the same price to just buy a new one completely.

Shannon -

I found 2 dehydrators at a local Thrift Store last year for me and Ed. Maybe you can find one at a local thrift store in your area? Or do you have a FreeCycle group (or similar group) in your area? I also got one there, so I have 2 I can use. And friends have found them on CraigsList.org.

Also, how much Kefir do you drink each day? I got some at the store - Strawberry/Acai/Coconut - and like it. I can see why it makes you regular. LOL!

Linda - we usually drink a glass of kefir with breakfast right now. There is no way I could keep up with more than that for this many people!!! Even Emi enjoys it! That is our "juice" in the morning :) I need to check the local thrift stores! I got this last one from a girl who had only used it once or twice... I paid a whole $25... for a 9 tray excaliber that had been used twice!!!!! I was ecstatic!!!

My Thai Curry last night was sadly not authentic! It was good, but just not the same :( We even added soy sauce and fish sauce (neither were called for) but it just wasn't as yummy as we've had in the past, so that recipe went in the trash, hahaha. Tonight we are going more simple, with a Garlic Chuck Roast, with roasted potatoes.

Shannon your garlic chuck roast sounds delish. I cook with a lot of garlic. Yesterday when I roasted veggies I put in a whole bulb of garlic. All the veggies and garlic ended up in the soup pot along with fresh bok choy.

Today I'm making cream potatoes for supper and to freeze in single servings. I bought a ricer to make gnocchi so now I am finding other uses for it. Salmon patties and green beans to go with the potatoes.

Garlic is indeed delightful!!! How are the bulbs you bought from MJF growing? I'm hoping to get some of those this year!!!

Shannon, they all made it and are 6" high. If they do as well as it looks like they will do I will save one bulb to plant and order another batch in the fall. I eventually would like to grow them from my own seed garlic.

Oh Sherry! Can you save me a piece of that pecan pound cake? I looks delish! I've never had one! Still hoping to cross off my bucket list - authentic southern pecan pie!

Not much cooking going on in my kitchen. Last night I had pesto with fresh pasta.

Nothing is cooking in my kitchen today. It's my birthday so like any other kid I get to eat what I want. Skipped breakfast except for morning hot tea. Grocery shopped. Had lunch when I arrived home. Fifty cent pkg of Lays potato chips, 1/2 deli chicken tender and a glass of Merlot. Have a pkg of Havarti cheese coming to room temperature to have with prosciutto and Ritz crackers for supper. Gotta love snacking days.

Sounds Delicious Sara! Of course, I would add fresh bread and butter with that glass of Merlot!

I have a pot of frozen cream crowder peas on the stove with a smoked ham hock and herbs. Fried potatoes and cornbread will go good with it.

First time to make asparagus soup. It smells so good. My sister is coming over at 3 for a little snack. On the menu is asparagus soup, smoked salmon, assorted chesses and Ritz crackers.
