Denise, you were having tropical weather! Both of the two tropical places I visited had showers and more showers...usually with out all the noise and the bright light show.

Low 80s seem like the perfect temps to me Bonnie!
We are supposed to be at 83 today. I think I am going to head out and soak up some of that sunshine!

Today looks to be our first hot day this summer. Supposed to hit 91 and with the humidity I'm sure it will feel much warmer.

Marilyn when we lived in Florida there was always a light show it seemed, but when in Hawaii it was more like sun showers. Sun shining and raining at the same time. Only time I remember it not being that way was when Hurricane Ewa went through. It was in the afternoon/evening and we were having a block party because the power went out for a couple days and no one had big freezers so food had to get cooked up fast. Hence the block party. Lol. It was memorable. My husband was out at sea and my mom made her first and only visit so was there during the hurricane.

It is going to be a hot one here today. Upper 90's and higher humidity than we normally have. I was in the potato patch by 6 to do some tilling and weeding before it gets to hot o be out there. We desperately need rain so praying we get a good storm coming through.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

My one trip to Florida to DW, 9 summers ago...was hot and when it rained we got soaked. Horrible winds. Umbrellas were useless...broken...
In 1982 we spent five days on Oahu and 4 days on the big island. Each morning at 4:00 am I was sitting on the balcony drinking coffee, as I watched the city awaken. The streets were always wet...due to the early morning rain. But being tropical, the rain returned in the afternoon. I think that is why I love tropical rain. I understand that hurricanes are big fierce storms. But because we are inland...sometimes we get the gentle showers that come with the bands as the storm moves inland. The plants grow so much. It always makes me think of the garden of Eden. In fact the whole world was lush and green. When I saw the tiny oak trees that have sprung up since winter, also the pecans...I wondered of God was frying to reforest the earth. When I was weed eating, I avoided them. So now they are about 6 " tall. I'm talking about hundreds of tiny New trees.

We were in Hawaii,on the island of Oahu in '82 also. Stationed at Pearl Harbor. Id rather go through a hurricane than tornado. I've been through both.

What a lovely day it is. Somewhat overcast and rain expected. This morning I sat outside enjoying the songs of Mother Nature. It truly is the simple things in life that brings the most joy!

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Carol that is nice knitting, are you making a sweater?

We had pretty weather yesterday the sun was out and blue sky much better than grey and fog.

Have a nice day!

Growing up in western Texas it was often 115° in the hot summer. Of course humidity was rarely heard mentioned. We were kids, who spent our mornings having fun in the dry creek bed, sitting our way across the big creek, on a big city water line. (Leap frog style.) Climbing up into that huge mulberry tree to sit, where hundreds of other kids had sat(there was a natural rounded out seat big enough for three little kids, to sit together, pick and eat our bellies full...all while dropping them to the cupped hands waiting below.
After lunch we had to stay inside, mothers rules! We played old Maid, did paint by number pictures, etc.
A
A swamp box cooled the little house, just enough. Talking about it makes me almost able to smell the wet straw mats.
Then about 3:30 we gathered our empty pop bottles and off we went to the store, up the street to sell those bottles, buy ice cold soda pops, and if we had any extra pennies we could buy Kits. Of course we had determined early on that four little candy pieces for a penny was way better than just one.(I was the oldest kid in the neighborhood, so at age 12, sometimes I felt like the pied piper with my following.
We had so much fun!)

Darlene & Marilyn, thank you ... yes 100% wool from Norway. I'm loving the natural sheep colours. I tend to lean towards either natural or natural with an over-dye that allows the natural colour of the sheep's fleece to show.

Overcast here ... humid .... lovely nonetheless
