I'm ready for some sunshine! We have been foggy all day. Yesterday, the day before. Depressing weather.

Partly cloudy, warm and breezy today. Going up into the upper 70s. What a change from a chilly , rainy and damp weekend!

We didn't get the snow, just rain. It is 28 this morning with the wind chill at 16. Good day for staying in and getting things done. With a hot cup of something of course. Here we are on a hill and the wind blows across the open fields which make this old house feel like a sieve sometimes. Bundling up today!

We had high winds, then wind and rain, now it's just raining.

The wind is still blowing something fierce this evening. They are saying another storm but we didn't get anything from the last one. So we will see.

I read in the almanac last week that the last 12 days of January are a pretty good indication of your weather for the year. If true we should have some clouds, lots of sunshine a bit of rain and...a typical year! It was so windy today...it almost blew me over along with the shopping cart I was pushing. That is very strong wind!

That's the type of wind we have had Marilyn. Yesterday was nice. They are saying a blizzard for us the next couple of days. Will believe it when/if it happens.

The wind blew all night! It is continuing! 7:15 am.

Today is Freedom Day!!! President Trump signed an Executive Order declaring it so...last July 4th.
Yesterday I read that it will be our new Independence Day.

It's been snowing all afternoon. Our governor has called for a state of emergency. They are saying 24" so I'm not sure why the the SOE except maybe to close schools and state buildings. We are supposed to have continued snow through Tuesday afternoon. So I guess the weatherman was wrong last time and right this time so I guess that's a 50-50. Lol.

We had a cold front move through last night with rain. Today skies are still cloudy and temps in mid 50s with freeze warnings tonight and tomorrow night. We had a beautiful sunny Saturday that was up to 70 for a short while. Nicest day we have had in awhile but these colder days are giving all the trees and bushes a nice rest as they are not hurried into blooming and starting their new foliage. Last Summer was the hottest on record and everything suffered some. WE didn't get into consistent cooler and drier days until the middle of November, which was a little later than usual. However, per our semi-tropical location, the early signs of Spring are moving forward. These are the things I have noticed last week: Japanese Magnolia is starting to bloom, a few of the wild Plum trees are starting to bud their flowers, the Florida Red Maples are blooming out their red seed pods, Azalea bushes that are in protected areas are having a few blooms come out, and the local Oak Trees that stay green all year are starting to shed their old leaves now. With having more of a winter this year, I am looking forward to Spring and all the pretty flowers this year. I love that Spring has not been rushed into being by January with an extra mild Winter pattern.

Still mostly cloudy but the weatherman says we have a week of sunshine coming up. I can hardly wait -- I have a ton of oxalis to weed out of the yard that will give me an excuse to sit in the sun for a couple hour each day.

We are getting rain today. It will wash away the snow and ice that was left. Will be in the 40s. They are saying snow again Sunday.

We are getting more snow tonight through Saturday. I don't think it will be much. Most of the last snow from Sunday is gone but it is icy in patches in the driveway. Love to see the snow blanket everything and make it look clean and fresh.

Well what do I know. We woke to quite a bit of snow on ground. I guess the Farmers Almanac was right! They said this was going to be a snowy month for us.
Still coming down in big, fluffy flakes. Love watching it while I sit by the fire with my cup and book.

BRRRRRRRRRRR its too cold for West Tennessee! We are not use to this!! Going down to 11 degrees this weekend! We got just 1/4 inch of ice in our area. No Snow. Holly and Lily June lost power yesterday, They live in Mid-Town Memphis where there are so many old trees with huge limbs so the least little bit of ice or wind takes them down.
We don't warm up till the end of next week so far.
Denise, I bet your snow is pretty!
