We are having a high of 48 today with sunshine and tomorrow 59 but with the warmer temps comes rain. Back to cold and possible snow on Saturday.

Cloudy at 7 AM but sunny at 9 AM.

My vintage house is being painted this week/weekend, so the sunnier and drier the better. Tuesday they took down the large hinged-at-the-top screens that they need to rebuild, power washed the entire outside, and removed most of the wood around the windows that needs replacing. Wednesday (yesterday) they replaced wood and started scraping the old caulking that was done incorrectly last time it was painted (lots of scraping to do). Today they are still scraping and replacing wood. Thomas said they would be working this weekend, too. The house will be beautiful when it is done.

We did both comment that removing all the stuff that was on the porch made the porch look a LOT larger than it did before. LOL! It is amazing how we start adding things. I want to try and keep it mininmal. I'd love to screen it in, but not sure how to do it. I may ask Thomas (the painter/remodeler) what he would suggest.

Wow Linda, your house will look so nice! Lots of work, but I feel sure Thomas is glad to have your house to paint.Construction has slowed down here, but my son still has work. His stress level is up though because he has several guys to keep busy other than himself. At least they don't have two heavy, bulky Air conditioner units to lift up on top of a two story building today. He said that was really tough for three or four men to do.

Linda, I don't envy what you are going through now with house repairs & painting but it will be beautiful when done. My house will need a re-do in a couple of years. Love frame houses but they do have to be kept up.

Yes, the older houses with siding do take a lot of work to keep up.

61 here today. Showers this afternoon but I am going to take advantage of the nice weather today and get out in it! It was the same on this date last year. The record high for today's date was 73 back in 1949

All cloudy here south of you, too. They are finishing up the scraping, board replacing, etc. Too cold to paint today, maybe tomorrow.

We ended up in the upper 40s yesterday...but with a sweater and a visit from Mr. Sun...it was a beautiful afternoon. When I went to clean up the barn and water horses my son had the radio on , turned up loud...country music...The kind from my child hood. I came home, and told my husband, that there was a dance hall down the hill! My son was on his tractor way on down past the arena, burning old hay and then I heard the four wheeler, then the tractor once again as he was plowing his big arena again. I never even saw him.

Here is a couple of photos I took Friday night on the way to to a Church Valentines dinner, it was a delicious meal.
It was clear today except for some rain this morning it sure was cold though.

Darlene your sunset photos are beautiful. They remind me of an evening about twenty years ago... I put Bay in her car seat and got into the car and began to ease out of my friends driveway. All of a sudden I heard an alarmed voice... "Gwenny de moon...dis bwoked!" She was about 2 0 months old. Clouds streamed across the middle of the moon and sure enough it looked broken. I reassured her it would be back to normal very soon. And of course it was. They

Marilyn how sweet, I love it.
Thank you for that, well today we were treated to a pretty but cool day and on my back walk my Nasturtiums were blooming so here is a photo

The sky was a beautiful blue and the Post office Flag was looking so beautiful, I just wanted to share and even through the hard cold the Amaryllis is blooming.
Have a blessed day!

Last night I could barely see the moon for all the clouds. Now I think we got your thunder, Marilyn. It has been raining most of the morning and started thundering about an hour or so ago. And, yes, it is cold. My large thermometer on the poprch is of no use right now, the porch is empty of ALL accoutrements. In fact, it looks really nice when it is cleared off, and it looks a lot larger. I am trying to figure out where I can put some of the things that I no longer want on the porch - like the huge pellet grill. It is handy on the porch, but also takes up a LOT of room. I also had a small round table and 2 chairs on one end of the porch. I am thinking of making a small stone patio of sorts on the front lawn under the trees for at least the table and 2 chairs, and maybe the grill, too. I found some heavy rubber "brick" 16" squares on a heavy vinyl/plastic backing. They are $10 each and with a landscaping timber border and over sand would be a nice, restful area. Then again, Texas weather changes so quickly and dramatically, summers are VERY hot, and then there are the heavy frog-strangler rains. Would we use something out in the yard as much as on the porch? I know I want the two old rocking chairs on the porch for sure - they are comfortable and true to the character of this 100+ year old house. LOL! So many things to think about and consider.
