If you love rain...get ready! When it started last night,I thought it would be over and gone in a couple of hours...but no. The system is very pokey slow. NOAA and weather bug both had issued alerts that ended at 1:00am. It is almost 5:30am and it cleared out about 4am..no tornados, no hail, lots of thunder and lightening and glorious blessing rain. .

Finally having the warmth we've been waiting for here. 76 with a feel of 80 today and a thunderstorm this evening.

We have finally survived another slow moving storm. I hope the rest of whoever gets it does not get anything really bad. I got two messages from the police dept, one Code Red alert and three NOAA messages, plus those on Weather Bug. They were scaring me! No one was here but me, and the dogs.
Finally I figured out that they were all talking about the lightening! They even gave instructions, very detailed about what to do, where ever you were, to be safe. These storms have not been flooding storms, but very noisy! We have had 2" of rain in 24 hours. Thank you God.

I sent an email to Darlene asking her to pray for me during the storm. She is a very good prayer warrior. Thank you Darlene, God heard you!

Northeast Texas has gotten rain and a few storms but nothing like what Marilyn has seen. More thunderstorms are in forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

Marilyn,
Glad you are safe.
It has been a stormy Spring here but not as much as yours.
Expecting sunshine and 70s today.

Today I hurried and planted the okra I had soaked, some black eyed peas and Bush beans. They were supposed to be planted yesterday but the storm stopped me. It has not rained...YET! Radar shows bits of rain everywhere.

Just past midnight it began to rain. It sounds so good...It makes me wish I had an old fashioned tin roof. Thank you God for the blessing rain.

Well, more rain for us. Started last night expecting it to go through today. But sunshine looks promising for tomorrow!

We actually had two sunny and warm days. Yesterday it was 73 and today it was 69. The rest of the week is supposed to be in the fifties and rain. Is there hope for spring?

Bonnie, we are in a rainy pattern here in Texas too. We get sunshine about two maybe three days a week then rain comes again. In fact it is about an hour away.

Bonnie your weather sounds like this area’s normal Summer but I don’t think there is a normal weather anywhere this year.

Beautiful Sunshine today. It did look like we were heading for a storm but it didn't happen so it must have passed us by.

Today, Wednesday, May 8th...after being in storm warnings since yesterday afternoon...well they arrived! Rain, thunder and scary lightening!!!
It is coming at us from the southwest. That is the direction Bay goes on class days. Had just told me that Bay had to turn around and try to come back home...she could not see the road to drive due to the heavy rain.
Today was their last class day, with the last final tomorrow morning.
So I guess I'm stuck inside until the lightening stops. That may be a couple of hours.
Maybe a nap is in order!

It is raning, thundering, and lightning here, too, Marilyn. In fact, I think it is out of your area and has gone east - to me! We have had a little over 2-1/2" already.

Well I'm glad that is over!!! We got three inches of rain, lots of wind three or four different times. No hail or bad stuff but the lightening was scary! Very scary!!! It is so wet here that we had flood warnings. My son drove his crew to the job, but I think they experienced some of what Bay did. The difference, she had over an hour headed directly into the storm and they turned out of it after about 20 miles. It was so dark that when I finally came out the back door at 11:30 the porch light came on. I talked to Bay just before I went to the Post office and feed store and she said today was a study day for tomorrow's final, she called and told them why she returned home, and was studying by herself!

Glad your GD wasn't penalized for not being able to safely get to school. I hope tomorrow's weather is easy for her.

Linda, she told me the students had planned to study together today. I'm not sure if the teachers were going to be there or not. It was not required.

It's a chilly 58 here today. A cold breeze blowing. Supposed to get up to 65 but raining as well.
Lots to take care of inside though. I'm a bit surprised it is this cool this time of year. By now we are usually having 80 degree days with a couple 90's thrown in by the end of the month.

We are a bit warmer, in the 60s. It is foggy and grey clouds everywhere.
When I helped my husband get the lunch boxes to his truck, I thought, this is so much like the tropics, the trees and vines were slowly drip, drip, dripping water. The plants are loving this but a visit from Mr. Sun would certainly help them.
