Such a nice day yesterday. Sunny with a little breeze. I opened the windows and that the fresh air in. We moved some flowers around and went to get a few things that needed replaced. While were at the store we picked up a climbing rose, 2 rose bushes, a lilac,( I couldn't resist I miss all the ones we had in Jersey) and I found a snake plant to add to my indoor plants. Going to plant the lilac and roses today. Love to have flowers all around!

I'm looking forward to warmer weather and decorating the deck a bit. The previous owner had lots of places to hang baskets of flowers. Need to get some new cushions made for the wicker chairs. Then I'll see what else we can do to pretty it up and make it a relaxing spot.

We found and bought a 3-piece glider set - 2 chairs and a double - for $75. It is a used set but in great condition. We went and got some cushions, but I'm not sure they will work so may take them back. The cushions cost $140!!!! LOL! More than the 3 glider pieces. LOL! I need to try today and return them if they don't work. I have 3 seat/back cushions I have and may just get another similar ones and use them - a lot cheaper that way. LOL!

Well, I will have to wait until we are clear of snow in the forecast before I put anything out there. I can't believe we were hunting eggs in the sunshine yesterday and today it's snowing.

Thanks you for asking. It's a two (2) year degree. I'm really excited about it. It's something I've wanted to do for quite some time.

Definitely getting some spring cleaning up done. The guys took down the dead tree in the back. Built the firepit. Going to plant flowers where the tree was.

I have some news to share with you all. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. It was very small and contained. Last week I had a lumpectomy and one lymph node removed to test. If all the pathology results come back good, the next step will be radiation for some number of weeks. They also did genetic testing and thankfully I had negative results for the big breast cancer markers that would require more radical surgery and chemotherapy as well. I was relieved to get those back. My post-op visit next week will lay out more clearly what is happening next. I also got a huge hematoma at the surgical site which has been a pain in the neck because I have had to do a lot of double wrapping of the chest to keep pressure on the area 24/7. One week later, I am getting really tired of doing this and the hematoma is going down very slowly. Anyway, I probably won't sign up to do a lot of things right now as the swelling in my right armpit is making it hard to type or do repetitive motions and I am right handed!! Next week starts Physical therapy so as healing moves forward I am sure things will resolve.

As Barbara Criss over on the main Forum likes to say. "Gettin' old ain't for Sissies!!""

I will be able to check in here and keep up but I don't want to commit to doing things as I am not sure how the next weeks will make me feel. The good news is that I am feeling so much better than last week so I am happy!

Both of my sisters had very early stage breast cancer many years ago and had a lumpectomy and radiation and no return of cancer all these many years. I have been worried every year that I got a mammogram that I would end up with breast cancer as well. So, now it has happened but my surgeon told me we caught it early, it is very treatable , and the chance of returning will be small percentage after all the treatments.

The medical team that I am with has been great. They have helped answer all of my questions and concerns every step of the way. Plus they have been kind and caring too. I am grateful that we have good medical care in my town!

Hugs and prayers, Winnie. So glad for you that this was caught early and is treatable. This is another good reason for all of us to keep up with the yearly mammograms.

Winnie -- I am so sorry to hear about the breast cancer. Fortunately it is caught early so you have excellent prospects for recovery. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Winnie,
I am so very sorry. That was my diagnosis a year and a half ago. Things went very well and I am feeling great and back to normal. I pray all goes well for you. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

Thank-you all for your concerns and prayers! As treatments move forward I will let you know how things are going. Julie, so glad you are doing very well and feeling back to normal. I look forward to being able to say the same!!

We are creeping up to the mid 80s and by Tuesday could have 90 degrees! There is also no rain predicted for the entire week which will be in the upper 80s every day. Hubby is already having to water the flowers about every other day to keep them going. Looking like a big move towards Summer down here as we wrap up April. I still have all my Spring and Easter stuff out and enjoying it. My guess is that when May arrives, I will move on to summer themes until August. And then you know I start in on all things apples because the early summer apples start arriving at one of our local grocery stores and I go NUTS!! I was gifted this Christmas a book titled The Apple Lover's Cookbook. It has so much wonderful information in it and I am slowing reading it between other books for fun. Apples are very flexible for so many delicious ways to eat them, both savory and sweet.

It was beautiful and warm-ish yesterday. So while JT was straightening things up in the garage I spent time clearing the yard and drive of sticks. We have one tree that drops more sticks than leaves.
When we finished JT mowed and I was busy with the car. It was in desperate need.
Then we started cleaning out the front flower beds of leaves and such. It felt good to get it done but I was sore from using all the muscles that haven't been stretched all winter. Felt good while doing it but not so much today. After we finished it started raining. Glad it waited. Hope you all had productive Mondays too!
