Hi Denise - You asked about a dip for fruit. I have made an easy dip before using a blend of cream cheese and caramelised fig balsamic vinegar. You just add the vinegar to your liking - it's such a quick, easy recipe.

This isn’t a recipe, but I thought this might fit in this topic. It just popped up on Facebook this morning. I thought this might help those of you that have a nice garden.

Thought I would share this recipe. It’s the perfect pie for spring…or any time of year!

Thanks for sharing this recipe, Denise. We eat a lot of custard in Australia. It's a very popular dessert accompaniment. I have a few recipes for making custard from scratch, but I have never had a custard pie, so this one will be interesting to try. I can just substitute a gluten-free base.

Hi Denise - I successfully made the Egg Custard Pie with a gluten-free crust. I was going to upload a photo for you to see, but the internal error is still happening. I'll get a photo uploaded when I can. Thanks for sharing the recipe - it brings back delightful memories of a "Sweet Impossible Pie" recipe that my Mum used to make. Yum!!!

I visited the Cascade Lavender Farm with my dear farmgirl friend, April, recently & was inspired to do some baking with a splash of culinary lavender...

Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Combine:
2 cups all-purpose flour (I substituted Gluten-Free flour)
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp chopped lavender flowers

Mix in electric mixer at low speed:
3/4 cup butter
2 tbsp honey
1/2 cup confectioners sugar

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Add flour mixture and mix until dough resembles coarse meal. Gather into a ball and transfer to lightly floured surface. Knead until it just comes together. Roll out dough and cut into cookies. Place a sprig of lavender on each cookie and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake in middle of oven until golden brown 20-25 minutes.

Great recipes. Since I bake all the time and collect recipes. I'll have to search around for something. Cindy a very long time ago I made some lamingtons' from a friend who came from Australia.

Our church had an Oktoberfest celebration over the weekend and I made Creme Bavaroise (vanilla & chocolate versions). They were devoured pretty quickly, so I guess it was a success!!

I figured this was as good a topic for this item in our Henhouse.

Here is something that popped up on Facebook this morning. This woman has many great ideas. I think it is interesting. She does recommend that you use other containers to store anything that comes in cardboard boxes. What do you think?

I can't tell if the first word is Foods or Goods. LOL!
