I am excited to begin working on my merit badges and sharing my experiences with everyone! After much debating I was finally able to pick the top 4 badges I plan to accomplish first!
I chose….

1.Pampered Pets (Outpost)
-It’s important to me that my pets are healthy and will live a long happy life. Knowing what is best for them will allow me to enhance their life.

2. Bread Making (Farm Kitchen)
-I have always enjoyed cooking and now look forward to a better way of cooking.

3. Embroidery (Stitching and Crafting)
- Would love to make something special for my baby boy just like my Grandma Butters made for me.

4. Water Conservation (Cleaning Up)
- I love the idea of helping save the planet as well as help me save money on my bill.

With that in mind, what merit badges do you fellow farmgirls plan on accomplishing first? Or working towards right now? Any of them hold a special meaning that drives you to accomplish one over another?

Much luck and enjoyment in your merit badge experiences!

I am in awe of everyone’s creations and completing those ufo’s. I will never catch up but I WILL begin! You’ll be hearing from me soon I hope.

Thanks everyone.

Jill, I actually found this kit on Amazon. They had a bunch of designs, but I liked the star the best. It came with everything you need to make it. The instructions were a little vague, but I googled any questions I had. The brand is Vaescol.

I applied for my intermediate and expert lost art of letter writing on Wednesday. I still need to apply for my mosaic and macrame badge. I also started on my intermediate macrame last night.

Heather, the purple one is my favorite! I redid it 3 times to make it look just like the picture lol.

I finished my beginner mosaic badge! My mind is already wandering trying to figure out what I want to make for my intermediate level.

Thanks!

Great work Jill!

I finished the last keychain over the weekend. Now I am ready to apply for my beginner macrame badge.

Over the weekend I also finished my book and 3 letters for the intermediate level of the lost art of letter writing. And this month I finished my second mail art for the expert badge. I can apply for both of those as well.

Then yesterday I started my beginner mosaics badge!

That turned out super cute! I have some macrame cord but I haven't gotten around to learning how to do it yet. Maybe that will be my next rainy day project...

Congratulations Jill on finishing another badge!

Here is my next keychain! This one has the key ring on it.

One more keychain to go!

Can't wait to see the key chain Krista!

Jill - your herb garden sounds fantastic.

I still haven't applied for my badges yet. Hopefully this weekend!

I have finally gotten organized to sit down for a few minutes (really that's how long it took me!!) and apply for my first badge in quite a long time. I submitted for the beginner Herbs badge. I had to move my herb garden last year and had to reduce the space available. But I have rosemary, thyme, sage, mint, and chives all growing well. I'm planning to add cilantro, parsley, lemon verbena, oregano, and savory soon.

Denise, the kit came with some of those basic keyrings and has you just tie it on with another piece of macrame cord. But my remaining cord piece is too small, so I am trying to figure something else out. I will show my next one once its finished. Hopefully it will make more sense. It's also a lot smaller than it looks. Ill add it to my keys to show you as well.

Krista,
How do you put that onto a keyring? What a great pattern!

My first macrame keychain is done! Well other than hooking the keychain loop on. This pattern was super enjoyable and I would like to make another one in the future. I learned the larks head knot and the double-half hitch knot.

I have 2 more keychains to make.

Denise, that is awesome!

Debbie, you are on a roll. I finished my second mail art swap with the April swap. I still need to write my 3 letters. I got busy outside this weekend planting seeds and then sidetracked with another badge lol. Once I mail those letters then I can apply for the intermediate and expert.

Shenandoah, I am glad you got it figured out.

I wasn’t looking to comment, just to read it, but it wouldn’t let me see any posts at all but it did before.
