I am a nurse and I get burned out....... I get weary of endless amounts of people, expecting more when there are less of us, with less help..... and energy. It's really true that when you help others it gives you much less time to fuss about yourself!
A year ago I put together a resume and applied to Interplast, an international group of doctors and nurses that travel to foreign countries. There, they repair disfigured men, women and children, harmed by fire, by birth, by earthquake. I was accepted in Peru.
In December I'll post my story, but I would like to share the one at this link below with you. Whenever I have stepped away to do something like this it is restorative. Very much like when we reach out to each other from a distance to console, help, work with one another.

Jo, I have two college students who rent a room from me. One is from Cuzco, Peru. If you are going to be anywhere near there, let me know and I will have her email you (if you like) with her parent's names and address and I am sure they will be more than happy to offer any assistance they might. She is a soulful person, and I can tell, so are you. God Bless You! Judy

Jo, this is fantastic! I can imagine that you do get burned out in your profession but this will just 're-ignite' your passion for what you do and help so many needy people. I hope that you have a safe but awesome trip and that you bless many, many people with your gift of healing.
Angie.

Oh - Jo - that is absolutely wonderful. When my little one was in the hospital in Salt Lake City, there was a little guy in the crib next to ours in the recovery room who had just come out of a surgery to repair a severe cleft palate. He had had about five surgeries before, and he had one or two left to go. I know that is just a difficult process, but for these little ones (and older ones, too!) it is a life-changing thing. What an amazing feeling to have, that you have dramatically improved someones life in a way that they couldn't do themselves, even with all of the willpower in the world. Farmgirl strength and love to ya!

XOXO,
Libbie
