I have been researching some things and came across a treatment that called for a tincture of St. Joans wort. I was wondering if there is such a thing of if maybe it was a typo and should have been St Johns wort. Would anyone know about this?

Blessings....

I take it back- It is the same plant, but some people do dub it "St. Joans Wort" See below from

What St. John's Wort Is and What It Can Do

You've probably heard something about St. John's wortor St. Joan's wort, as my herbalist friend Susun Weed, author of Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman Way, dubs it. Maybe you know of someone who claims this herb--in capsule form, tincture, or tea--has helped her ward off SAD or full-blown depression.

St. John's St. Joan's is one in the same as far as I know. Susun Weed calls it St. Joan's. She has a great forum on her website that is filled with scads of information on about any herbal question you may have. I will be interviewing her for an upcoming issue of The Essential Herbal magazine in early 2008.
