I read about this book on one of the threads a while back (I think it was Alee's thread about airing bedding), and had to get a copy! I've just started reading it, and I'm amazed at all the wonderful information it has in it! Good read!

Isn't it great? It's like the ultimate home ec. text book. So much info.

I love her introduction and how she admits to being a 'secret homemaker'.

It is definitely worth getting a copy of, Alee!

It IS like the ultimate home ec book! When I opened the package and saw the size of the book, I was like 'oh my goodness, this is the housekeeping BIBLE'!! It's really wonderful.

The book is titled 'Home Comforts', Kate... I can't remember the author's name off the top of my head, but it's a really awesome book.

I have that book too...problem is I haven't read it....DUH...but the author is Cheryl Mendelson, published by Scribner in 1999...thanks for reminding me! I would rather read about cleaning than actually do it so now when I get the urge maybe I'll just grab that book instead! LOL!!!
Thanks for yet another excuse for me to procrastinate!

Me too, Kate. I really do like a clean house and I would rather clean than do bills anyday. I am in for a break from mowing right now...it's half done and I ran out of gas but I have some so I'm good to go when I go out. It is a gorgeous day here today. It's 89 but there's breeze and only 47% humidity rather than the usual 97% so I had to get out there and take advantage of it. I put weed and feed on my lawn (this house was empty for 5 years before I moved here) and the weed and feed worked.....I hardly have any lawn left....it was all weeds! LOL! Needless to say I am kicking up a lot of dust in the neighborhood today! Ha! Ha!
Better get back out there and "git er' done"!
