Hi girls,
I could smell the fresh baked bread, and it brought me right back to the porch. Could I have a slice please, with some butter slathered all over it and maybe a bit of some of this strawberry freezer jam that I found in the freezer this morning. It's a big jar so help yourselves ladies

We just finished a very nice pot roast so tomorrow there'll be a big pot of beef soup on the back burner. I'll save a bowl for anyone who'd like to share it. Hubby says the best part of my pot roast is the leftovers in soup. I have to agree. A slice of that homemade bread sure would taste good along with a bowl of steamy soup.
We're gearing up for more snow overnight so I think I'll just crawl back onto the porch for the sunshine and sunny smiles. I sure do love all of you, your food and your sunny dispositions! You're the bright spot of my day.

Beef soup sounds wonderful! I may have that too. I think I have a frozen hunck of beef somewhere in the freeze! The canned tomatos came out well but the dried ones are still drying!!! They look so pretty though. The night is clear and dry after the terrible rain and wind we had this morning. I am enjoying the porch and the stars that can only be seen in a country sky!!!!

We had a couple peaks of sun yesterday, it was a nice break form the grey skies.
Our weather for this coming week is awful!
I will be sitting on the porch with you ladies sipping the chicory blended coffee and watching the chickens and flowers.
I would love a slice of warm bread and some strawberry jam on it too!
I can see us all sitting there, lauging and smiling and enjoing each others company.

Mornin', ladies! Sorry I've been absent, but I can only get to this darn computer on Tuesdays. We're still a little too rural to have decent internet service. But maybe one day! Ah, Marly. You are too sweet! I felt your hug all the way up here in the North! I'll be fine -- it's just one of those paths you have to follow, even if the sharp stones hurt the soles of your feet. But I will take a big ol' bowl of that gumbo. I'll put some brownies in the oven for you too. How's Lucky feeling? Hi, Sam! Welcome to the porch! We love having you here, and please share some of those memories with us! And no, darlin', you do NOT have to go do housework. Instead, you get to sit on the porch, relax and just enjoy life! The chickens are in the house, the kitten is fed, the baby is asleep and the hubby has gone to bed. Any room left in a sunny spot on a prch swing? It's gettin' cold again in KS and I miss my Georgia home.
To plant a thing and watch it grow... that is to nurture a miracle. |

Oh of course there is room. It is mighty cold at home, so being on the porch is so nice.
We can chat about our chickens,kids and homes.
We can sit back and snooze as most of us do not do enough of that at home.
Sit back relax and enjoy!

I made cinnimon rolls for breakfast for my family and the coffee was very welcome. Now that the first round of morning chores are done I have time for a quick breather here on the porch!!!

Hey Girls,
It's sure been busy around here, but now that I've caught up since I was last on the porch I want to say Thanks Julie, I'll be posting that on my frig. less house work and more sitting on the porch enjoying the company of the farmgirls there isn't any better conversations to join into. Well that bread isn't helping my diet and Sandy, you put my mouth to watering but I'm going to stay focused on that warm sun and the sight of Dawn chasing those guineas, I though she had that last one if it wouldn't have been for that thing taking flight I believe she would have got it for sure. So Katy you are a swing girl to well I must say that I will move over and share mine I have gotten the spot all warm for ya. I must give you a crash course on it though, this rope that is strung from the post on the edge of the porch and is barely tide on the arm over there well I like it where the swing is high and my feet barely touch but the whole idea of swinging is to swing so you give that rope a pull and your off just a swinging. When you slow down pull again. My mom is short and had trouble reaching the ground when sitting in the swing when I was young I used to watch her tie a rope to the limb across from the one that the swing was hanging on and relax in the evening after work under that old shade tree. I'm worse than an old cat in the sun I get relaxed just plum lazy. Ha Ha |

Recovering from some biopsies of my stomach...maybe some sweet tea and a quiet rocking chair , while I listen to the lovely sounds of all of your voices...such a lively, yet peaceful place to be =)

Sorry you're having stomach problems. That's a never ending issue with me so you have my sympathy. Please feel better soon. I have a new box of mint tea...let me get you a cup. Would you like a little fresh honey from Kentucy to sweeten it a bit. I always find the honey soothing after a biopsy.

Nancy, you are so sweet! Yes, please =) Sorry that we both belly troubles....
I might snip out one of my apron patterns here in a bit and start hand stitching it. I found some lovely fabric while out thrifting last week, and can't wait to see both pieces in aprons!

Julia, I have never heard of Rose Congue tea. What does it taste like? I made cinnimon buns today, but brownies sound great!

Oh!!!! Who said brownies........ My favorite ever dessert. I could live on the stuff. LOL. Julie: Welcome back to the porch. How kind of you to ask how my Luck Dog is doing. Well after having three teeth pulled, he is doing just fine. He says "Woof, Woof" to all you girls. I think I'll just have a glass of cool water, and sit here and listen to all the stories on the porch. Keep chatting girls, I'm listening.

I love rose tea! A sip would be lovely along with my gilding the lily brownies. It's a good thing that food eaten on the porch has no calories. If not, all of us would have an extra few inches on our hips for sure.
It's snowing here in Indiana and getting colder by the minute. Throw another log on the fire and all snuggle in a little closer. Maybe we should grab a few more quilts to keep ourselves nice and toasty.

I am SO addicted to this virtual porch thing!!! Your posts make me feel so "comfy and cozy" I love brownies at "certain times of the month" and bedtime tea is so great. I am going to try to find some of that tea so when I come to sit on the porch I can drink it!!

I have some Earl Grey tea here that should go nicely with rosemary shortbread; sounds so yummy!
It is really cold here this morning, and I feel in the need for some more robust sustenance as well. Breakfast casserole anyone? Eggs, ground sausage, potatoes, green pepper and Cheddar. You don't have to hurry. Food stays warm forever here on the Porch. ;)
