Ah... I love Sunday afternoons! After church, I usually make a big pot of tea, read, watch a movie, and snooze. Today, I will virtually put my feet up on the porch railing, with a cup of tea and relish the thought that I am to be a Nana again this fall. Can't think of a better place to do that than here. Could you pass me a couple of cookies, one of each please.

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

I took a snooze this afternoon, so I could come rock a bit on the porch. I love hearing what all is going on in your lives. I hope everyone enjoyed the afternoon walk. I brought some spice cake with apple slices on top to share tonight. I'll just sip some chamomile tea as we visit.
Hubby bought me some fresh daffodils this past week. He has been doing it for 52 years now, one of those before we were married. That is my early valentine.
I made some molded candies so we could have some to take to the people we deliver meals to on Friday. There is plenty left after packaging them up to share with you too. One mold has the little sayings on them.

I went outside to take my dog and looked up. The sky was so clear. I had never seen so many stars! I get so busy sometimes but here on the porch I take a break. And then I see!!!

It's all good!

I'd love to bring ya'll some of my freshly-picked gala apples! And I'll grab my guitar on the way out the door, we can dance and sing our cares away while we watch the sun set. Then we can sit and listen to the whiporwills and crickets make their music, breathe in the cool air, and count our blessings....

I've got my dancing shoes on.....that guitar sure sounds good. Do I hear someone singing softly?
Yep, my hubby is a keeper!!
Ah there's a little sunshine to help us enjoy our time on the porch.
I used some of those gala apples to make apple muffins---feel free to enjoy one or two.
Have a great day.

The sun is out and glistening on the snow. We're getting ready for the second blizzard to hit tonight but I'm ready. Hopefully it will be the last big one this season.

This Nana has to do some bragging...just a warning. My soon to be 16 year old grandson, Joseph, just won second place in the Utah Special Olympics in bowling! He actually got the highest score but due to his "handicap extra points", he won the silver medal. God bless him, his parents and the great men of the Shriners who have helped him participate even though he's severely limited in his abilities to move with Muscular Dystrophy, he doesn't let his spirit be limited in any way.

I also learned that there is a new little grandbaby due in August. Daughter, a nurse/midwife on a Souix reservation in SD will be adding to her family of big brothers Broedy (3) and Fynn (1) and big sister Katherine (28). Let it snow...life is great!!!

Apple muffins, mmmmm.

Congrats, Nancy on both accounts! As far as I can tell, we Nana's havevthe reservered right to brag about our grandkids. I think it is the Nana contract.

First time in years I wasn't at a super bowl party watching the game, (with my hubby gone now, a move away from the friends we always celebrated with), though I really never watched the game, I just went for the fellowship, it was sad not to be part of it all.

I am sorry your Colts did not win, but they have won the Super Bowl before. The Saints have never won the Super Bowl, so here in Louisiana we were so excited.
I'm ready for a walk.

Needed a pick-me-up tonight, these were my choice! I'll bring some by in a bit =)

Flourless PB cookies
Ingredients

* 1 cup peanut butter
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 egg

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
2. Combine ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Let cool. Recipe doesn't make very many, so you could double recipe as you desire.

Well girls I will be on the porch a little longer than normal for a few days (at least I hope its only gonna be a few days), I pulled the large muscle in my left shoulder blade (the wing)near the top this morn when I leaned back to grab something I dropped and twisted my arm towards the back to grab it instead of just turning around to pick it up. It really hurt like @#%#@&*^%, so my D-in-law ran me down to the Urgent Care, and I have my arm in a sling, this crap with me getting hurt is getting really old, or is it just me getting OLD, I'm hateing this alot. So tomorrow morn after my time with my hubbies memories during the sunrise, I will still be sitting here, trying to figure out what I can do with only one good arm,lol.

Good morning, ladies! Mmmm..... spice cake and hot tea. Now, I think that's just a lovely breakfast!!!! Michelle - I hate that your friends are so far away. I'm going to MapQuest to see how close you are to me. With the luck I've had, it'll probably be a six hour or better drive, but it's worth it to find out. If you're closer, maybe we can meet half way and have lunch or something? If not, just pull your rocker up next to mine on this ol' porch and we'll visit the day away. Hey, ladies! Wait for me! One more bite, one more sip, and I'll join you on that walk!

Just as I suspected, Michelle. Natchez would be about as close to a half way point. Maybe we can swing it anyway, one day. Marly? Isn't that somewhere relatively close to you, too? Wanna try to join us? Don't know when it'll be, or if we can pull it off, but wouldn't it be fun if we could????!!!!!!

If there's room on one of the steps, I'd like to join. I'll bring some delicious Veggie Squares to munch on and my cross stitch to work on.
