Hi ladies. Thought I'd share a couple of pics from today. The first is the buns.

This is the bunny villain.

Good times on the farm!

Dianne, sorry about your migraine. Not fun to wake up to one. I'm glad you are feeling better.

Tammy, Sounds like a nice outing with the man. Not much fun when your feet hurt though. I can relate right now.

I only have 4 more days of work. It's been hard. Working 4 days in a row on my feet just about did me in. I have never had this problem before. I feel like a big wussy. I can't wait for it to be over. I have tomorrow off so I can rest up. Thankfully I only have 2 more long days. I need a desk job after this. I'm missing my kids pretty bad. This will be my first Christmas in 28 years without my kids. I hate the changes the last 3 years have brought. Feeling a bit low tonight. Hopefully it will pass.

Evening My Porchies...

RFM Tammy...we have missed your smilen face on here the last few days. Your trip to Cantebury Village sounded like fun. We have a German Village in Washington State too called Leavenworth. It looks more like a Swiss Village. It is a fun place to visit either summer or winter. But they really do it up beautifully in the Winter. ~ Sorry that your kids don't feel comfortable sharing the holidays with you because of your man. That just is not cool. No man would come between me and my kids! I am still praying for you on that issue girlfriend. ~ Planter Fascitis lasts all your life. Yes, you can get arch-supports to help with the problem but it never goes away. I have had it for years and I know what it is like to have feet hurt so bad you feel like crawling on all fours instead of walking. I have had my feet bring me to tears many a time.

Bunny...you should know that Plantar Fascitis is a symptom of Fibro too. That is why your feet are killing you at work. I have osteo-arthritis, fibro, and planter faciatis in my feet...and had to get a Handicap Parking Permit about 10 yrs ago. I am happy that you don't have many more days to be putting yourself in such terrible pain.
~ I bet you really do miss your kids. I am sorry that you have to do Christmas without them. That would make me blue too. Praying for you...girl.

Madame Butterfly... glad to hear that Jax is doing well. Does he get to go to school on the last day???? ~ I bet the teachers will appreciate the Fresh Fruit after all the Holiday Sugar. Even I am sick of sugar at the moment. (Miss Chocolaholic herself).
That was so nice for the mom to treat the Teachers...how lovely was that? ~ So, we heard the Tea Kettle Whistling...but what kind of tea is warming your tummy this time of year??? It has been a while since you shared what you've been drinking. I am ready to have a cup of Bunny's Jasmine Tea. Sounds like just what I need before I go curl up with my book.

Judy...So glad to see you on The Porch tonight. Oh, your Mama likes those way too early appointments huh?? Poor You! I think 9:00 am apptmnts are way too early! lol ~ Better make your hubby an Industrial Size Stocking...triple layered for durability...to hold all those tools. ~ I love, love, love, wood floors. This house we are renting has all wood flooring except in one bedroom and the livingroom (they are both carpeted)...if I owned this house that wall to wall carpeting would be ripped out in a seconds time. I hate carpeting. I love area rugs...to cozy up certain areas but hardwood floors are so much easier to care for than carpeting and they look timeless! ~ You have yourself a Merry Little Christmas too Miss Doozy-Card! Love ya!

Miss Megan...you have been missed to girlfriend. How is the dating going? Hopefully you can hop on here more over Christmas break and fill us in our your teenage stuff. lol

Julie...Oh, your bunnies are so adorable!!! Kitty looks much too curious for his own good. Where is your herding-dog when those bunnies need him??? lol ~ Are you all ready for Christmas at your house?

Today ...I had a Gilmore Girls Marathon...day. I stayed in my pj's and watched hours worth of season 2 of The Gilmore girls. I love that show!!! It was fun just to sit and laugh and relax...after having wrapped the last of the Christmas Gifts.

I think I may do the same thing tomorrow...and the next day and the next!!! It was just so much fun!!

Ok...off to have that cup of tea. See you all back on The Porch tomorrow.

hugs and blessings,
peggy

Bunny...I keep forgetting to show you what I did with my Fruit & Veggie Trays
instead of throwing them away after our Christmas Party. I thought...hey, those
would be perfect for buttons when I am making my Yo-Y0's and other craft projects.
What do you think????

Morning ladies! Back to cool temps in the 30's today along with rain later this afternoon. I'm really starting to feel put out about not having any snow. So far the forecast is rain 3 days this week with a possibility of mixed precipitation. I want a white holiday and it doesn't look like I'll get it. Normally I love the holiday but I just am not feeling it on so many levels this year.

Tammy - I LOVE mexican hot chocolate. That touch of cayanne is perfect. It sounds like a great meal.

PeggyAnn - I can identify with wanting to crawl instead of walking due to the pain. That's a great idea for sorting buttons! I have a jar that I keep all mine in. Not very well organized. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts regarding the situation. I am so hoping I hear something this week on that job interview a week ago. That would be a huge step in helping me get out.

Julie - the buns are so cute. I miss not having bunnies any more. Cats can be friends with the buns if you watch them carefully and let them know they aren't for eating. Our cat and bunnies use to play tag all the time - one would chase the other around and then they're reverse and go the other way. The bunnies would jump up really high into the air as they spun around to chase the cat. They were so funny to watch it was sometimes better then tv.

I talked yesterday with my massage therapist who immediately called in my chiropractor (same office) and had her adjust my feet. I'd never thought to say anything to the chiro about it. Chiro says she can fix the problem so I'm not in so much pain. For those of you with this problem she said vibration is the key. She told me to get a vibrating foot bath then nightly to use the vibration feature with or without water in it for 15 to 30 minutes. Between the foot adjustment and my massage therapist doing a plantar release (type of massage) on my feet they feel so much better today. She also said she swears by crocs for people with plantar fascitis. I was wearing my crocs Sunday when we did all the walking but might need to replace them. They have some loafer and tennis shoe styles out that look pretty nice.

Well I should really get back to work. Sloooowww day so I'm not super motivated. Might make a cup of tea or hot chocolate and see if that helps :o)

TyTyTy Gals for all the cards that are rolling in. You all are so sweet. Bunny...here you are feeling down...and yet you perked me up, made me smile and gave me a "Warm&Fuzzy" feeling with your cute tea carrier and tea pearls. You are a sweetie. Ty!
Peg, loved the Precious Heavenly Poem! THAT will go in my Bible to Refresh me when I have a "feeling-empty" kind of day! ......and leave it to you ya"CraftyBugger" to come up with a use for a plastic tray. You go girl. They look so preeeeety in there! *giggle*
Tammy I miss having bunnies too. I loved watching them act crazy and do the "bunny-binkies", jump&twist thing. Always made me laugh.
Took Mama to the eye doc this morning. This is her 4th doctor/specialist and he basically said that she has a wrinkle on her retina and there's nothing they can do for it. And all of the dryness and eye pain is just old age. I just wanted to drag that young whipper-snapper into the bathroom and wash his mouth out with soap....then Jap-Slap him and tell him, "get some bedside manner and use some tact man....'cause you're gonna be (old) someday too!" Ma said she didn't care for him. He mumbled like he didn't care if she could hear him or not. Then he got a text on his cell phone from a brother in Utah on a ski vacation. He reads it and starts snickering. Mind you, there's a sign on the wall that says, "No CELL PHONES!" Guess we are through with him!!!My uncle told Ma to go to him, because he liked him. Whatever!
Sorry,I'm protective of my Mama and I don't like doctors with a "I'm better than you" attitude! It upsets me, in case you couldn't tell.My sweet little Mama is losing her eyesight little by little and they don't seem to care. It's frustrating!
*sigh* (steps down off of soapbox) Sorry!
Well....gotta go work on DH's Christmas stocking.
Later Gators!

That is some good information to know about the chiropractor and feet. I used to have one of those massaging foot baths but I got rid of it because I didn't use it. Darn it! Might have to get another one now.

I've never had Crocs but I do have a pair of Landau klogs that have been super squishy comfortable for several years now.

Judy, I'm sorry about your Mama's eyes and the sorry service you received from that eye doctor. I don't really like mine but it's quick and painless. He's said the same scripted things for 5 years now.

Bunny, hang in there. I've been thinking about you a lot and I know you'll be extra happy when you are done doing time at that job.

Peggy, you are very resourceful with those buttons! Now, I am going to shock you...we don't celebrate Christmas. Yep, we're one of "those" weird families. But don't worry, we get to get toys all year long. We celebrated when we were kids and those are some good memories. I also have lots of memories of getting my feelings hurt over a gift or not getting a gift. And the stress people go through, oh my. DH's family is extremely selfish so that's no good. My extended family is disconnected so that's no good. It was a conscious choice we made with our religious beliefs that has worked well for DH, DD, and I. I hope you have a good Christmas because it does mean something special to you.

Well, today I lost my mind and started moving furniture around and cleaning out all my market stuff. I'm taking a break till at least spring break so I decided to throw a lot of things away. I also needed a new home for DH's telescope I got him for our anniversary.

I was able to harvest some lettuce from the garden today. I got the majority of my spring seeds ordered and I made some bread. It was from a mix that a friend brought me from Lehi store in Utah.

I read an article from Grit about Coturnix quail. They might be on my wish list for livestock. The bunnies are amazingly fun to watch. They do make me laugh and are really smart. Have a good night ladies. I'm off to work on a farmgirl gift.

Bread...Mmm

Hi everyone! I had a little extra time, so why not pop on!
Julie, what cute pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Bunny, my Mom used to have feet pain problems, but now that she wears Dansko clogs, her feet are fine. She's on her feet mostly for her work (she's a nurse), and she loves them. They're a little on the pricey side, but for the use you get out of them, they pretty much pay for themselves! I'm praying for ya sister!
Miss Peggy! I've missed the porch too! The dating's been going well. It's hard since we go to different schools, but we text every night (I know, I know, why doesn't anyone talk on the phone anymore!), which makes it easier to keep the relationship going. And talking him is like talking to my best friends, it's natural! Ah, I'm getting all teenagery again! :)
RFM Tammy, we're not getting any snow either! I'm feeling like it's not even Wisconsin anymore!
Judy, that doctor certainly needs to learn something or two about bedside manner! I'm sorry things didn't go well, and I'll be praying for you and your Mom.
One and a half days and I'm done! I'm so excited for break, it's not even funny! I'm also happy to be able to see some of my Michigan family again, we always have fun when we're together! I hope everyone is having a relaxing time finishing getting ready for Christmas. My Mom and I have been doing some baking over the past few days, and I need to start wrapping my gifts. So the pandamonium begins! I hope all my farmgirl sisters have wonderful Wednesdays!
God's and Holiday's Blessings,
Megan

Sorry no time to catch up tonight. We just got home from a mini vacation in Leavensworth WA (Bavarian town). Had so much fun. We got a picture taken while there that I thought I'd share with you. I love it. Think it's so cute. And the fact that I'm wearing a dirndl just makes it perfect. :)

Gotta go get some sleep but I'll catch up with everyone later.

Kimberly...Such A Great Picture!!! You all look so cute! Don't you just LOVE Leavenworth??? It is so much fun there.

Julie...sorry, I didn't know that you don't celebrate Christmas...I know others who have made that same choice. In fact
last night one of the young men who works in Barnes & Noble Cafe...told me the same thing, that he doesn't celebrate
Christmas either. I respect your choice not to dear friend. ~ Oh, I must say, I wish I could reach right into that picture
of your Bread and take a slice. Looks so yummy and I can almost smell it from here.

Megan...Oh gosh, I guess I never really thought about Texting taking over actual phone conversations between boyfriends and
girlfriends. That is kind of sad! I can remember spending hours on the phone every night with my boyfriends...if we weren't
together that is. I can also remember snoopy little sisters and brothers trying to listen in on the conversations. LOL
Truly technology has changed the whole dating scene hasn't it? Kinda Crazy! Please promise me if you break up with him down
the road...you won't do it via text message. That would just be too cold! ~ So, still no snow huh? We are having crazy warm
weather here and very little rain...which just isn't normal either.

RFM Tammy...I did the whole Foot Soaks every night for a year when I worked retail and had to be on my feet all day. It was
a lot like Massage is (a feel good temporary relief...but doesn't make the pain go away.) I did have a Footbath that had the heated vibrator and roller massage and the whole nine yards. Like I said, for about half an hour afterwards it felt great but the benefits
wore off much too quickly. I will admit that I never tried a chiropractor for foot adjustments (my experience with chiropractors
hasn't been good ...so, even though I know a bazillion people use them...I am not one of them). But I think everyone should try
what ever they think...might bring them relief...if that is the route you wish to go. I know for myself...I could have gone broke
over the years trying everyones Tried and True Cures for Fibro. Everyone means well...but I am a sceptic. I watched my little sister
try everything for her Fibro and her Rhuematoid Arthritis...from herbs, to ancupuncture, massage and pressure point injections, tens units and you name it. And seriously girls...she is way worse off than I am because of it. In fact I am an advocate of learning to live with your
pain. I quit taking all the heavy duty narcotics the Drs. had me on, and various therapy's for this and that. I pretty much treat my pain
with just Aleve when it is really flaring and nothing for the normal everyday pain. It is amazing that our mental adjustment to pain can
be one of our greatest coping mechanisms. I accepted the fact that PAIN is my reality and I must live with it everyday. Accepting that Truth and not fighting against it...made a huge psychological difference for me personally. When you fight it and stress over it...it creates even more pain.

Judy...I am glad that you loved the Poem. God wakes me up in the middle of the Night (the only time I am quiet. hee hee) and gives me
the poetry. It has been that way for years. After about the first year of Him doing that...He then told me I was to share them. I said, "Say, what? Whatcha talken about Lord?" But I gave up arguing because you know... He always WINS! ~ That Dr. your Mama went to
see needs his attitude adjusted, don't you think? About 15 yrs ago...when my MIL started having health issues (in her 80's)...I began
to witness Dr.s acting the same way to her. I thought it was horrible. It was that whole "Your Old...what do you expect...attitude."
Well, what I expect is that they give The Elderly even more respect and graciousness than they do with younger people. They have earned
that kind of care....and respectful treatment. Just because you age...you still have feelings and dignity for heavens sake. If you want
Judy...I will hold him down while you wash out his mouth with soap! Shame on Him.

Well, it was a nice day here. Quiet but pleasant. I didn't get around to any more Gilmore Girls today because DH was home and we had
errands to run....and then I had to rest when we got home. Tonight we watched TV and I knit. Now, I am off to dreamland...I hope I
don't have any dreams like my husband had last night. LOL He dreamt that our Dr. had a sex change opporation and then was hitting on
my husband. If you knew our Dr. you would appreciate how rediculous and halarious that dream was. We both go see the Dr. in two days
and I told my DH I was going to rat him out. LOL I won't (as long as he behaves himself for the next couple of days)...LOL

Night Girls,
peggy

Good morning everyone. Thankfully a short work day for me. Only 4 hours so I should be good. I still hurt from my 4 day stint. I have two more long days back to back and then one more short day and then I'm free. It will probably take 2 weeks just to heal and get back to normal.
Peggy, interesting that you take Aleve for pain. I have also found it is the only thing that even tips the scales the other way. It still doesn't do anything for bad days though. I have tried hot baths and massage but like you said, I get about 30 minutes of relief and then all the pain is back. I'm looking forward to the last day at work.

Judy, sorry about your Momma's lousy doctor. I hope you tell him what for next time you go in. He needs a bit of an attitude adjustment.

Megan, interesting how technology has changed the way you communicate these days. I agree with Peggy, anything important you need to say to this young man, hopefully you will say it in person or at least on the phone. Have fun!

Kim, what a fun picture. I can see your kids are loving it!

Anyway, I need to get ready for work. Later for now.

Good morning ladies. It's kind of a dull, grey outside right now. I wish it would snow here. I'm like you girls that don't have any snow - we have a tiny little skiff of it, but not enough to do anything with.

Well, I came home from work yesterday not feeling very good, so I stayed home today. If I feel better this afternoon, I'll see if they need me to go in. I hate being sick. I'd rather have a cold/ear infection than feeling nasty all day long. Hopefully this is all I get & it's done today. I fell asleep on the couch yesterday & dozed on & off from about 3:30 til 8, then I couldn't fall asleep when it was bedtime. Didn't help either that I was hot/cold/hot/cold. I finally got up & came out to the couch & did sleep there.

I still have my niece's quilt to finish. Not sure when that's going to get done. I'm hoping on Friday. I could also do it on the 25th (we're having Christmas on the 24th). I think I have everyone elses' done - I just have to wrap them/package them up.

Well ladies, I think I'm going to go shower & see how I feel. I may still end up just sitting on the couch, but maybe it will make me feel human again.

Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself.

Good morning all -

It seems like I'm always apologizing for not writing, but please believe that I at least keep up with reading posts! It seems like everyone is so very busy right now. I've had a nasty head cold the last few days and an ear infection. Finally called the doctor, and he prescribed an antibiotic, which is makin me dizzy. Has anybody else ever experienced that with an antibiotic?

Anyway, boyfriend and I are leaving for Vermont tomorrow AM to spend Christmas with my mother and cousins. I can't wait. I'm really ready for a few days away.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed holiday -

Big Farmgirl Hugs to All,

Kimberly - What an awesome picture of your family! Your costumes are awesome. Did you make them yourself?

Judy - Sorry about your mom's experience with the doctor. They seriously need to teach bedside manners to these people nowadays because common sense doesn't exist with them obviously.

Julie - I haven't tried Dansko yet. I swear by my crocs and Birkenstocks though. Unfortunately they don't look the best for corporate america and if I get this job I'm going to have to find something that will be dressy enough for an upscale law office. I have seen some cute designs on Danskos so maybe I'll give them a try.

PeggyAnn - I understand about your experience with chiros. My first experience wasn't good either. My friends kept telling me to go to this particular office, they knew the people personnally and went there themselves. After developing another servere flare of sciatica I broke down and tried them out and I've been with them since. The difference was radical. I've come to realize that for me personally I need naturalistic orientated care and it's not always easy to find. My chiro was the one who put me on a supplement that has been helping with the thyroid nodules. The one thing that really impressed me when I first went to them was that they told me that if they couldn't fix the problem or significantly improve it within 5 visits they'd stop treatment because it wasn't working. The first chiro I went to for my first sciatic flare wanted $4000 up front for a year of adjustments, billed me for xrays they took and told me were free, wanted me pay $25 per visit to lay on a massaging table to make it easier for him to adjust me and then told me I'd need to come in daily for at least a month with probably 2 to 3 visits a week after that. Went to them with the exact same symptoms, they adjusted me once and the pain was gone. As I said - HUGE difference. I realize it's not for everybody but it's definately improved my quality of life. Thankfully I don't have fibro to complicate it any more then it already is. I feel for you gals that have it.

Bunny - are you going to throw a celebration when you finish up with this job? LOL If not, you should even if you're the only person celebrating :O) A hot bath, glass of wine, and maybe a special treat?

Took the pups for a walk last night, nearly 2 miles. Probably wasn't wise with my feet and I'm feeling it today but I so miss walking with them. If I can get this foot problem under control I'm seriously thinking about walking a couple marathons or 5Ks this summer. There's one in October that the Army guys do that'a half marathon (13.5 miles) and also a 5K (3.5 miles) at the same time and I can walk or run it. They don't allow pets though which is a bummer. If I'm still here I might consider it. I'm going to start looking for events that allow pets though. It would help me get off some of this poundage I've put on. Cleaned the bedroom and swept and mopped it and the hallway. I was rather productive last night :O)

Well need to get back to work. It's unbearably slow during the holidays, which isn't necessarily bad, but I'm not use to inactivity LOL.

MEEP! Checked my email and saw a ton of updates, and of course the porch is the most popular post I'm following and now we're up to 423 pages... I think it might have been 418 when I last popped in? I don't even know...

Anyway, just haven't had time for the internet lately. I'm either at work or working at home! I made headway last night, though. Got lots of cutting done, and if I keep at it, I will be able to finish up by Sunday.

I'm making pajamas for my imediate family here in Texas, and kitchen items like a towel, potholders and a reusable shopping bag that folds up into itself. I've got one stocking nearly finished and will probably work on the others tonight. Now, if I could just get the house cleaned! I think maybe Josh will take care of that today... *crossing fingers*

It's been cold and windy and my hands are getting so dry lately :( I resorted to using A&D Ointment on them last night. They're not cracking, but it feels like my skin is too tight on my hands and that A&D did the trick. I know there is a lot of Lanolin in it, so I may pick up a small jar of lanolin next time I'm at the store.

Well, I'm sitting here staring at the screen, wondering what to type next, 8 billion things going through my head at one time, so I figure it's time for me to wander over to the coffee bar for another cup, and figure out what I'm going to do today. I think everyone is leaving town today; traffic on the interstate was kind of weird. If I'm right, it will be a quiet work day. It's already more quiet than Monday and Tuesday were.

Hope you all have a great day! I promise I will try to catch up soon just have to get through the holidays!

Peg. Thanks. I am going on Sat over to DD's to help her get all the food ready. My SIL called me and asked if I would help (planned to anyway just had not said anything yet) and he intends to feed all help on Sat. That may grills a mean steak.
Kim beautiful pix of you and family.
Bunny, glad that you are getting an easy day for a change.
Hello and hugs to everyone else and blessings.

Tammy, my Christmas present to my self is no more working at the grocery store. I have been "treating" myself to peppermint ice cream to get through the bad days. I only have 3 more days to go.

Pam sorry you are feeling under the weather. Hope you get better soon.

No snow here I'm afraid. Kind a scary for this time of year. Hope someone gets it soon.

I have been working on my brochures and website for my pet sitting business. You can check out the website so far at
www.apetslove.com

I really hope this takes off. I figured I only need 4 customers a day with two visits to actually earn a living. Don't worry, I'll stay in school. I have to learn how to do my bookkeeping properly anyway. My mom is going in for surgery again tomorrow morning. I really hope it works this time. She will have 8 weeks of not being able to use one arm. Thankfully I'll be home for 2 of them to do everything.

Hope all you ladies feeling under the weather get better soon.

Hi everyone! Only one half day to go!
Kimberly, what an adorable picture! Sounds like a fun day!
Peggy and Bunny, I promise anything important will be said in person! I would hate being told important things over text, so I would never do that to someone else.
Bunny, I hope that your business takes off, too. That sounds like a great idea!
Judy, hello to you too!
Miranda, always nice to hear from you, too! I hope you're able to get everything done for the holidays!
Luanne, I hope you have a good trip!
Peggy, a day with Gilmore Girls surely would've been the thing to put you in the holiday mood, even with no snow! I love their Christmas episodes, especially!
Pam, I hope you feel better soon!
Well, pretty much everything's done... school wise at least! I have two papers to hand in tomorrow, one final question for a test, and then I'm free! I still have to wrap my gifts, and get a few as well, but otherwise I think my break will be pretty relaxing. I hope everyone has blessed Thursdays!
God's and Holiday's Blessings,
Megan

Wow Ladies! I had no idea you could smell my bread all the way over there! Haha. I can tell you it was a winner and I didn't use a bread pan. Just used a flat pan and let it go its own direction. Today I made a pot of beans for the first time. Can you believe I've never cooked dried beans before? I even have bags and bags of dried beans. I got inspired by reading the article in Mother Earth News about Finding Self-Reliance in a Pot of Dried Beans...

http://www.motherearthnews.com/nature-and-community/self-reliance-dried-beans-zm0z11zmat.aspx?page=3

I figured if this lady could do it, then I certainly could at least give it a try. So I made the recipe she had, Frijoles de Olla.

http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food/frijoles-de-olla-recipe-zmrz11zmat.aspx

The beans turned out great! I followed the tips about keeping them covered for a creamier bean and I also used a potato masher to mash it a little to thicken it up. I was really pleased with how it turned out and real proud I learned how.

The other recipe I tried was a pumpkin cheesecake pie. This was DD's suggestion.

http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1937,145188-247205,00.html

The only changes I made were to use some cooked pumpkin I had frozen and to skip the list of spices and just add 2 tsp of Pumpkin Pie spice. Oh, and if you're short an egg it won't matter...oops! This pretty much winds up my creative cooking for the week. I have to have a few days to mentally prepare myself for going to work. I'm sure you Fibro gals can understand what I'm talking about.

I do have a pair of the Dansko klogs, as suggested by Meghan, and they are one of my most favorite pairs of shoes. And they better be, cost me $120. I am also in the hospital setting and can easily outwalk any other department in the hospital in one shift. I wore a pedometer once and had walked 5 miles one day. I can say they work in a strange way. I will walk for awhile and sometimes my feet will hurt but once I sit down the pain will go away. At the end of the shift my feet stop hurting by the time I get home and don't bother me at all the rest of the night or week. I can't say that about any other shoes in my 13 years of this job. I believe Dansko has a good return policy so you might be able to try them without worrying about losing your money. And hey, Brooke Shields wore them!

Bunny, I loved your website. I wonder if you could put a page with pet pictures of clients. It could sort of work as a reference page. Maybe pictures of the dogs being active in the park or chasing a ball, sleeping, curled up in your lap. I think you've come up with a grand idea. I have friends that are in their young 20s and not thinking about marriage or children but have dogs and then can't always take off work for the vet and stuff like that. I think you could get good word of mouth, too. Kind of like finding a good contractor.

It's back to raining right now. Not cold enough to snow. I have put a mix with the rabbit droppings on all the beds so we'll see if that helps feed the plants. I did get all my seeds ordered today. Yep, believe it or not, it will be Spring soon. Have a good night!

Julie, thanks for checking out my webpage. I don't have any current customers as yet. But I will put a page up as soon as I have something. The pets on the webpage are mine. The dog is Scooby, he passed away about a year and a half ago.I miss him almost as much as my log house. I almost couldn't deal with putting it up there. But I needed a dog picture.
I figure word of mouth will pretty much get me started. After that I need to get insured and bonded so I look more professional. Then I'll start putting my brochures in the local vet offices and pet supply stores.

Good luck on the beans. I'm not much of a bean person myself. Too much outflow afterwords. I know a little baking soda in the pot helps though.

Off to bed.. later....

Bunny, I love when the peppermint ice cream comes out in December. I eat it as much as possible....then it's gone again. :(
Around here it's seasonal. I don't know about your area.
I like dry beans of any kind.Luckily they like me too! teehee

Julie - I was reading that same article in Mother Earth News. I've been dying to make some bread but have just been too exhausted when I get home from work. I was cleaning up the bedroom Monday and realized my Hobby Farm Home magazine had fallen inbetween the bed and dresser and I hadn't finished reading it. It's got several interesting articles in it. Wish they were a little more indepth though. I might do some ham & bean soup soon and cornbread - yum. I got a great deal on a ham at Aldi's last week. They had them $5 off so I got a ham that was marked just under $10 for under $5 - not bad. The best way I've found to do bean soup is in a pressure cooker.

It was a bit of a strange morning. I was at my desk reading work emails when I started hearing light sabre noises from down the hall. I should mention that several soldiers were here this morning. They have a star wars light sabre app now for phones that they were having sword fights with. If two people with the app are in close proximity the apps sync so you get the sabre clashing sounds. Sometimes it feels like I work in a day care LOL I'm amused now but it was a bit jarring when it was happening. It was one of those mornings were my body just felt out of sync and it was like the sounds were throwing all the energy off around me.

I was checking out Craigslist. Found a small farm for rent that has a horse and a donkey they're leaving on the site. I could immediately visualize some sheep and goats LOL. It would be nice but not within my budget and I doubt the kids would move that far out away from where they work.

Well I think I will do some reading. They have a 4-day for the holiday and most of them are off work already so it's pretty dead around here. Its going to be worse tomorrow because they're off and I still have to be here (crazy contract) so I'll stock up on things in my bag to bring to keep me occupied. Might start a knitting project :O)
