Sharon, that's just wonderful. I wonder? Could you make a bear for me out of some of Violet's old dresses? I have this MOUNTAIN of keepsake clothing that I've been keeping and I always wonder if it's necessary--I'd certainly pay you for your efforts, but I'm thinking this might be a nice gift for her birthday at the end of February.

Oh, I love the bear. In fact, I love the whole concept of making a bear from castoff clothing or leftover fabrics. What a splendid idea.

I have made dozens of bears in the past. Made several to sell for Ronald McDonald House in Spokane. Made some for a friend's son and daughter out of her deceased husband's (their father's) wool work shirts and some for my kids and hubby.

I love your bear. May I ask you where you got your pattern at? I had one years ago and lost it. I would love to make some bears again for gifts for the grandchildren.

What do you use to stuff your bear and how do you determine how much stuffing to put in?

I've had the bear pattern forever, Shirley. It's from "Great American Quilt Factory, Inc." #1118 called Dream Spinners and copyrighted in 1985. You may be able to find it on Amazon or eBay. Someone out there must have it for sale. I stuff it quite heavily with soft polyester batting small torn apart pieces at a time Betty ... just kind of by feel.

Final preparations and set up for Christmas Bazaar tomorrow. Had three customers come by the house already who aren't able to go tomorrow. Yesterday evening sold two childs aprons to one gal. This morning a friend came out to just quickly get a childs apron for a birthday . . . well she left with that one and three more adult aprons! AND, another gal came out this morning and I don't know what she had in mind when she came but she left with NINE aprons!
It's probably a good thing my inventory was reduced because it helped with setting up for the bazaar which is always a challenge and I STILL have more than 50 aprons for the bazaar. Praying for good sales!!!!
AND, I'm working on orders too . . . apron-ing it is! CJ

I have been knitting up baby hats and matching booties for a local charity. I just wish that I could knit faster. It would be so great if I could knit a hat and a pair of booties in minutes instead of hours.

A wonderful thing with the hats. I love them all grouped together like that.

Marcy, Those little sets are just ADORABLE! I can't knit or crochet . . . maybe someday . . if I EVER get the time to sit and try to learn.
The Christmas Bazaar was a resounding success! Great sales for me and for my hubby (his handmade knives and woodturnings). I will have just a few aprons that are still available and will post pics of them on my Farm Fresh Aprons Facebook page and my CJs Creations blogspot.
On Monday, I will be also be taking a few out to put in a country store in a farming community, which happens to be on a main state highway, on consignment. Just in time for some Christmas shopping there.
Today, I'm going to do some Christmas decorating outside while the weather is not too blustery or cold . . and pray that we get SNOW!

I am not working on this, but saw it at a craft show this weekend. This will take a little imagination; pretend the "n"s are horseshoes and they are all welded together to make a tree. In each hump is a colored christmas ball hanging down. It was free standing and very cute. I don't know if I painted the picture very well, but maybe you get the idea.

A dozen of my aprons all carefully hung with care on a display rack at the Pleasant View Mercantile . . . a newly opened country store. (Owner was also a vendor at Farmers Market this summer. On the last day there she approached me and asked me if I'd consider putting my aprons in . . she wants to really create a nice "country store")
So, we'll see how sales go with that . . . it was a fun morning putting it together, chatting with the store owner and her staff.
Now, gotta get my orders done!! LOVIN' everything that all you girls are doing! CJ
