I just (recently) spotted a cute idea,,, gift tote bags, aprox 10" tall and 8" wide,, made of burlap,,, just pre-stamp them, (with perm. ink) then stitch up the sides, make a caseing along the top to run your string/ribbon through and voila'.. add a wee bit-o-glitter to the stamped image and you have blinged it up a notch.

This could be fun for the kiddos too!

Adorable bags Gracie. Years ago I made all kinds and sizes of bags, some with ribbon ties and some with zippers. Sold them at craft fairs/bazaars!

Still have some odds and ends of pieces of Mary Janes "Glamping" fabric. So I made a few coin purses . . at first just a couple for gifts. But then, I decided to see how many zippers I had in my stash that would work for them and make that many and sell on Facebook. Well . . . that's what I finished up this week. Sold 18 of them! I don't want to make anymore for a while! :D

No photos,,, but I have been up to my eyeballs in sewing lap quilts..
I finished 2 girlie lap quilts for our "Covers of Love" group... these will go to children in need (shelters, emergency situations, hospitals, etc.)
I also just finished up 2 of the 5 lap quilts that I am currently making for my cousins,,, from their (recently passed away)dad's shirts,,,
and then once they are finished, I will start on a few small hand crafted Christmas gifts... and then... the first weekend of December I am heading off for 4 days of girlie glamping with my gal pals... a much needed trip I might add,,, no sewing machine in sight! lol!

Grace,
You are so busy!!
I have been trying to clean my house for thanksgiving, I would rather be sewing, I have so many projects to work on, sigh..
I might work on something quick, instant gratification.

I mended one of DH's favorite shirts.

He calls it his turtle shirt. It has some weak spots in the fabric.

The edges are fraying. I received his permission to put bias binding on the front placket, sleeve and hem edges.

Ok ladies - This apron LOOKS nice but it has a rather dark side...but I have a warped sense of humor. I am very happy with how it turned out, though.

It looks so cute and sweet and like a cross stitched sampler, but when you look close it is not so sweet. I have no idea how many people are familiar with the mating habits of the praying mantis, but after mating, the Mrs. tears the head off thus killing the Mr. So you'll see in the little thought bubbles above the two critters in the sampler pattern - He is dreaming of love and She is dreaming of a knife and fork.

This is a gift for my 20something niece who has had a few poor experiences with boyfriends - as almost all of us did at that age - and I thought she would get a kick out of this.

I was just really happy to FIND this rather strange fabric, confirming it is not just me who is so warped!!

Woo Hooo! Thanks to the great staff for figuring out whatever was going on!

I can now share these pix of my sorta silly apron that Denise Ann fabulously described as having "subtle snakiness"

From a distance + nice
Up close = maybe not so nice....but funny

Thanks to Denise Ann for trying to upload them, too

The apron is adorable! Great job! The fabric is a show stopper though!!! I absolutely love it!
