Sounds like my crocheting too! I am working on crafts and need to make some tied fleece blankets for family. Got to get in to gear.
They might get them next April!

Nice work all you talented ladies. I've been making snowmen out of the toilet paper rolls that Linda posted as apples. I took snowman fabric for the roll. Topped it with a styrofoam ball. Used baby mittens for a hat. Beads for the face and a felt scarf. They are so cute. Also made a few oven towels out of pot holders and dish towels. Making a tablecloth from the 10" fabric swap and finishing Christmas table runners I started many moons ago. Wish I knew how to post pictures. I guess I should ask the grandkids to teach me. LOL!

Haven't done much crafting since just before our Halloween camping trip! YIPE!

But I finally FINALLY finished the school bus tissue box cover! It's not as perfect as I'd like it to be, but I think it'll do!

I'm working on a knitted blanket for my daughter. I had it planned out to be finished last year, but between moving, husband breaking his leg and giving birth to a very robust boy it didn't happen. I'm 2 1/2 skeins away from being done. Right now I'm doing about 4 rows a week! Maybe by spring she'll get it.

Kiersten, My first scarf I knitted was a stockinette stitch, but I didn't know you needed to knit the first stitch in every row to keep it flat. It curls so tight that it is wonderfully warm for the area it covers. It's those mistakes that give our beginning projects character and treasure able.

I do enjoy knitting! I'm not sure why I stopped knitting for several years but I did enjoy knitting today. And yes, I remember my mom telling me that one time. You do have to knit the first stitch of every row!

Hi Everyone!

I am knitting a pair of texting mittens. What are texting mittens you ask? They are regular mittens that stop at the base of the fingers. We use to call them fingerless mittens or fingerless gloves but it is the new millennium. The problem is I am a perfectionist and had to restart a couple of times. Hopefully I will get both done while it is still cool enough to wear them.

I am working on 2 afghans - one knit and one crochet. The crochet one is easy - same pattern just change colors. The knit one has been difficult. First, the published pattern had an error in it then executing the ripple pattern without messing up forced me to undo it many times. Now my solution is to place a marker every 29 stitches of the pattern repeat and count every section to make certain it is right. I also work when I know I will not be distracted. I plan to work at least two rows per day and more over the two week Christmas Holiday. I'll have a picture when I complete the colorway.

Today I am working on the Going Green merit badge. It's the perfect day to start it since mom and I need to clean her house for guests. She has a mix of both green cleaners and regular cleaners. I'm going to chat with her about green cleaners (she has been slowly trying to be more green anyway) and use only green cleaners to clean the house today! :)

After reading all the posts about merit badges I should work on the Shopping Green badge. It should be easy as California passed prop. 67 banning plastic bags at grocery stores and such. I already put reusable bags in both our cars. I just have to remember to bring them into the store with me.

Keirsten, good luck with your scarf. Love to see a picture when you are done.
Grace, those aprons are so cute!
Marie, you sound just like me. I restarted a few times on this project alone.

Wow!Love the scarves and aprons. Never been much for aprons but I'm thinking they are really cute! May have to make one for me. :)

and snuggly warm too, Becca,,,

Nancy,,, we have been carrying tote bags for the past year,,, but sometimes, I will dash in for just 1 item,,, and won't bother to bring in my bag... and go figure,,, that is when I leave with about 10 items! lol!
I now have a small scrunchable lil nylon bag that I keep up front by the console in the car,,, to grab when I dash out... it looks like a strawberry when scrunched up...
I am ok with the new prop for the charging of the plastic bags... and if I do get charged for 1 bag, 10cents,, not biggie,,, but really making a concerted effort to never need to leave a store with a plastic bag,,,

Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully the second one will match the first.

Grace
I actually embroidered about five plain bags several years ago and had been using them. Don't really know why I stopped. But now I have two reasons for using them again, cause there's a law and I can work on a badge.

And the other one....I'll skip the half apron I made because it looks like the red/black one. That one is for my niece, this one is for ME!
