Thanks! It was fun. They have an Empire line...so that's why they look a bit different. The ruffles were fun. I don't think I've ever seen anything with ruffles before.

Well I finished one glove yesterday. I think I need to read up on how to reduce to taper because it is kinda of big at my hand. I didn't follow a published pattern. Just thought it up in my head. Making these for early morning walks with my fur baby Shylo. It sometimes get all the way down to 70 degrees here in So.Cal in the winter. Brrrr. Seriously though I only need to cover my arms but don't want a jacket and when it gets up to 72 degrees then it is too hot and I want to remove the extra layer easily. Shylo is woofing at me. Gotta go for our walk.

Kat - I love your recycled sweater scarves. Are you felting the sweaters first, then cut into squares, line up, and stitch down the middle? I used to look for 100% animal fibre sweaters on sale at thrift shops for felting so I could use them for craft projects. I haven't done that in a while. I've made some purses out of them.

Nancy, arm warmers, how great is that! I'm sure they will keep you nice a warm. We had our granddaughter today. She's 16 and is learning to drive so we took her to a go cart track and had a wonderful time. We also got some sewing in as well. She made this cord keeper. Put the button hole and the button on with the sewing machine. We had a great day! Her name is McKenna, hence the M on the button.

Judy That is a cute idea. I have a lot of chords to keep tangle free between my smart phone, tablet and electric guitar and bass. I have been using those Velcro ones I bought at the local GC store. They are ok but I think your idea is much cuter and can be more custom. Love the button with initial.
Thanks TW

Thanks Nancy , Do a search for cord keepers on Pintrist. They have lots more ideas. The button was Kenna's idea! :)

Linda,,, I find cashmere sweaters at Thrifts. I bring them home, machine wash and dry them,,, cut out as many squares as I can and then I lay the squares down onto the sticky side of a long strip of masking tape,,, stitch down the center and then tear off the tape... easy peasy.

This weekend's adventure...quilting 101! I'm starting with potholders. If all goes well, I'll replace all the worn, burned, impossibly dirty potholders in my kitchen. We will see!

Hi Grace Have to say I am a bit spoiled out here. We actually had snow one year. All us cottled So Cal.golden babies were out taking pictures and videos of it. Hubby grew up in Colorado. He says I don't know what real cold is. My BFF who also grew up here moved to Minnesota a few years ago. She also says I have no clue on real cold.
Hi Denise Thanks for the kind words. I have some old leg warmers from the 80's I keep at work in my desk. They won't turn on the a.c. in the summertime and won't turn on the heat in the winter. We all walk around with throw blankets around our legs because of course we can't have heaters at our desks. Thank the Lord then let us have fans. Most of the work force is over 50. Don't think they want to deal with the fallout.

I recently received a small 'Scotty Dog' lamp in pieces... it needed repairs and a good (trailer) home... I told hubby my idea and he went straight to work on scrounging up the parts and painting and assembling it... I went out into my trailer and 'borrowed' a glass shade from a light fixture in my trailer... and Voila! Cute table lamp for my Scotty trailer...
Now I know you are thinking,,, what part of "work" did I do??? hey, I had to go out in the freezing cold and sneak into my trailer and unscrew the shade....and then put it onto the lamp fixture!! at least it didn't become one of my many UFO's...LOLOL!

What an adorable lamp, Grace! Sorry about the cold, though. I'd send you some Florida warmth if I could.
If you're near a Habitat for Humanity ReStore, they'll sell you a glass lampshade for a dollar or two! Then you won't have to "borrow" from your trailer forever. :)
