Dutchy...love your cowl. I made about four of them a couple years ago as Christmas gifts and I was just thinking the other day that I should make me one for the colder months. So, you re-inspired me! As soon as I get moved I think I will do that.
Carla...your dolls dress turned out really cute...but must admit the doll is kinda creepy looking. I have never seen those before.
Dianne...those pictures were just with my cell phone...so yeah they turned out pretty good for not using my real camera. I just so love them... and I keep showing them off. Used the prayer journal for the first time yesterday...doing my daily devotional. I am carrying both of them in my purse!
What am I working on today? PACKING! Hope to move some of our boxes and wall pictures over today. My son is having a professional cleaner come and clean the kitchen and bathrooms tomorrow night...so, I don't want to haul to much over there until she is done.
Have a great day you "Crafty" - Ladies. peggy

Belated answer to Sheri--I posted to this topic but forgot to subscribe to it, and just now found it again....I'll eventually get it all figured out but this is such a huge site with so many threads I'm still finding my way around. Sheri, I make dolls of just about anything but my favorite is the polymer clay (Prosculpt) heads over a tinfoil armature, and a wire armature stuffed--sounds like that is what you do. I started a dollmaker thread to see if I could find other dollmakers to share ideas with, but its not gotten a lot of traffic. There must be thousands of threads to follow. .....this website is a whole new world to me and I think I could spend 8 hours a day on it. I have not had time to look at all those wonderful MJF newsletters yet either. Ladies, all those art & craft items you posted pics of are wonderful!! wow, you are all so talented! Now when I lose my enthusiasm for whatever I'm trying to do I can come to this website and get re-inspired from all you wonderful ladies. Glenda

Beautiful projects farmgirls. Peggy, it is a sad commentary on my photography when your cellphone takes better pictures than my camera! LOL! Dianne

Hi Juanita...Oh you are a good grandma, sewing those Christmas Jammies for the grans. I love that you are using "Grinch" flannel. How fun will that be! They will love them!!!! You should find some plush Grinch stuffed toys...so they can snuggle in bed with them in their grinch P.J.'s. Wouldn't that just make those Jammies even more fun and delightful? ~ Honestly girlfriend, I haven't even started thinking about Christmas yet Except for MJF Swaps. Will deal with Christmas after I get moved!
Hi Dianne...you are so funny! And Such a Sweetheart!! Don't you just love what Bunny made for us! I knew you would enjoy it too. She is very talented like you are. Farm Sisters are the Bestest Ever!! We each seem to have our Crafting Talents.
Have a Great Evening Girls!
Hugs, Peggy

Well, what a bummer. Not one sale! Not even many coming into my Iwhen I went to lunch after the show. I tok a photo of the booth and sent it to my sister, she does antique shows. Her comment was a riot! Said I looked like I was trying to sign people up for medical exams. Well, we laughed hysterically, but it was true. My husband told me that you could not tell that I am a visual display artist, and he was correct!I guess I scared people off with the table blocking the entrance of the booth. So............. I went "display shopping" today and came up with some real goodies (I think). I am showing the photo from the original booth and next week I will send a photo showing the new, improved look and will smile about my sales. (Gee, I hope, I hope!) Can't give up as I'm too far in debt to quit.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

Here is the photo. And, thank you to all that encouraged me, I really appreciate it.[IMG]http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/October show 002.JPG[/IMG By the way, the computer ate some of the words up above. I sold a purse off my shoulder when I went to lunch after the show so I don't think it's the purses.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

Hey Susan, you sold one! Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
I love that doll dress. What a good job.
Here's the hat I finished today. I have some other stuff started but not sure what I want to work on most.

Susan, The fact that you sold a bag off of your shoulder is a sure sign that it isn't the bags. I think they are fabulous!! Marketing is the key...just keep an eye out for those types of booths that work for people and see if you can come up with something that really draws them in!!

Thank you Paula, I appreciate your input. And to think that I am a visual merchandiser for an up scale boutique. Guess I was into getting enough merchandise together. Can't wait to try my new props.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

Susan, I don't think it is the purses either, I can't wait to see the new booth. I got to get busy and finish my faux chenille blanket for a baby shower and the crochet one for the same shower. Here is the pic of a baby bonnet I made from a crochet handkerchief

What a gorgeous bonnet Penny! I love those kinds of delicate well crafted things.
Susan- I do make sock monkey hats and sell them. I'll be working on a pig hat and a cupcake hat next.

Julie, Love the panda hat. You are so talented! Susan, I haven't done craft shows because I'm afraid people will look and not buy so I admire you for trying again. I know you'll succeed. Penny, The bonnet is exquisite. Can't wait to see what's next. Dianne in the Hudson Valley

Dianne, I am trying the show again because I have so much money invested right not that I have to re coop some of it :-) Plus, it's nice to talk to people, if they look you in the eye and don't scurry away when you smile at them. You can't have a thin skin to do shows. Am showing my new and improved (I hope) set up. Will let you all know if if works this time.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |
