Awesome Marcy! Did you get any of my emails? I was wondering if you have started on the fairy doors for me. Thanks

While cleaning and organizing my canning stuff today I came across these two lids. Can anyone please tell me what they are?

Just finished another door. I wasn't sure about this one. I didn't like how the base came out at all. But I was happily surprised and I love how it came out.
Shelly, no, I didn't receive any emails from you. I sent you two emails and never heard back.(I'm guessing now that you didn't get them) I just assumed that you were'nt interested after all. If you still want the doors please let me know and I will get them out next week.
hugs

I'm making journals from old maps, scrap ribbon, and scrap wallpaper. Here is one of them. I'm still working on the inside. I'm using boarding passes and ticket jackets to embellish them. They are Christmas presents for a niece and 2 nephews. The boys journals will have a different trim on the outside.

Shelly, those are old canning jar lids. There use to be a glass insert that went under the lid. Look up old milk glass canning jars. You might find something there to help. sometimes it was milk glass and sometimes it was clear.
Here is a picture I found on the web. I typed in "vintage canning jar lids" Now we use a metal insert instead of the glass.

Love the fairy doors! And love the string quilt.
I haven't had much time to do any crocheting. Too much homework. But I get a break pretty soon for a whole week. I have so much to do. It is so much fun to see what everyone is working on. There is so much talent here!

This is just a huge Jar of Assorted Ribbon and Lace that I have...thought it was pretty.

Marcy...Hope one of those doors is for me *wink-Smile*
Loved the last one the best...but girlfriend are you ever talented!!!
You could start your own Fairy Door Business! Whoot - Whoot for Marcy.

CJ...your fabric all looks so pretty! You have such good taste in fabric
and put together with the fact that you are a Seamstress Extradonaire (sp)
no wonder your Aprons are so highly sought after and adored!

Kristina...cool travel journal. Stick a fancy ink pen with those and you could
sell a ton of those too. Such talented Farmgirls we have here!

Shelly...those are the most unique vintage canning lids I have ever seen.
It would be neat if you could buy a couple of the glass replacement parts
for the two you have.

Sunshine and Springtime,
peggy

I hate to say it, but I saw a few of those glass pieces, that go under those canning lids, at the thrift store. I didn't buy them, and when I went back, they were gone. They intrigued me. Now I know why. I bet you could search antique stores too.

Here is the inside pocket of the travel journal:

I used a portion of a ticket jacket to make a pocket, and the background is scrap wallpaper. I'm using wallpaper for the inside back pocket page, and then maps for the backside.

I made a "map" bookmark using cereal box cardboard too.

Here is my latest flower. I didn't think it up but love them. I still have to crochet a base for a pin. I'm going to make them into pins and sell them on my Artfire store.

Packing for a "glamping" trip this week with my daughter. I leave O-DARK-30 on Weds. morning to meet her near Phoenix for the rest of the week. YEE-HAW!!!!

But, I'm also doing a big of "cutesifying" of a train case I bought from "katmom" . . . just getting started by decoupaging some lace on it. More work to come later . . but I'm using it on this trip, along with some others I've been fortunate enough to have found!
