Being part of the medical field, I have my own biases, however, I have been experiencing quite an illness hitting several body systems since mid May. This past week, I was so ill, I thought it might just be easier to sleep & not wake up. Living a little away from some true civilization & medical care, it was because of my records being available to other physicians on line, that saved me much expense for repeat labs & xrays. It also showed the running dialogue of what doctors had discovered & their probable diagnoses. Although still running daily temps, I am at least out of bed & walking. I am so happy that my records were available to a plethera of specialists pouring over my case. Just my 2 cents.

I am much better, just trying to build my strength back. I so appreciate your prayers. I try sometimes to remember how I thought & felt before I knew the Lord. In MY life, there was so much fear & suspicion. I felt as though if I didn't do it, it wouldn't get done. I had to be in control of everything...not only my life. To be able to share concerns, inadequacies, & negatives, is a change to this heart by Jesus. We will wait for a diagnosis...if necessary, but I am thankful that you have shared your love & prayers for me. May God take your prayers & multiply 7-fold a blessing for you.

Claudia - sending prayers for you.

Please send up prayers for our weekend. Tonight we go camping for the first time since last year. There are always tempers flying and I don't need to hear them or be one of them. I need peace, and so does my family. Thanks.

When I was younger, I really felt so invincible....dumb youth, you know. It was one of the by-products of being sick....realizing that my body was frail for awhile, and that many things can affect our lives. I am so happy to say, that I was reminded again, that if God doesn't want me to walk....I won't walk, my heart to beat...He can make it stop, to silence my breath....he can do that too. We...I must realize that I owe everything to God, & it is important to depend on Him....medicines are good, but only because God gave someone the brains to figure something out. anyway...guess I am beating the bush....I owe all my life to Him & I must depend on Him. I wonder how long I can remember this. Thank you for your prayers...they were so appreciated.

Hi all! I haven't been on this much but would like to request assistance from anyone who has Dish. They have dropped the Inspiration channel. Please email President@dishnetwork.com and ask them to bring it back. It had really good stuff on it. They have added GMC which is also good and carries quality shows but would be nice to have Insp. back. They always add junk, why not add more Christian stations.
Just my thought.

I havent been on for awhile and just wanted to say hello. Claudia I am glad you are better. Please pray for our associate pastor and his family. A wreck after school with 5 teenagers in a truck took the life of his 17 yr old grandson and their 15 yr old grandaughter has a cracked pelvis, broken ankle etc. The remaining 4 were all hospitalized. 2 serious 2 critical.Thank you. They have comfort knowing he was such a strong Christian and is now with the Lord he served so strongly while here on earth but their pain is still so deep.

Hi Lea! Great to "see" you! I've been out of the loop for a while, too! Will definitely pray for your pastor, his grandchildren and their family. What a tragic, tragic thing. God bless them.

Hi girls - so glad to "see" all of you, too! It's especially nice to see all the new girls posting! WELCOME!!!

Claudia! So happy to hear you're doing better - praying for you to have a full recovery, and soon! :)

Megan - just want to check to be sure you got that list of books I sent? If not, I'll resend them right away. I hope they will be helpful!

Kristina - praying for you and your husband concerning his job search. I know how hard that is, truly. Hang in there. I'm sure God's plan for you is greater than you have ever imagined! :)

Although my life has been crazy-hectic, I have been so blessed. God is so, so good! Praise Him!!!

This is such a tough weekend. I remember that day as clearly as if it were just yesterday. My heart still feels pierced by the memory of that day, and my heart breaks for all of those still suffering in its wake. My heart rejoices, however, that the hearts of men turned toward Him that day, and, even if for a fleeting moment, we as a nation realized that our Hope is truly in Him and Him alone. May that spark that was lit that day continue to kindle the flame of love for Him in the hearts of our nation's people.

Will you pray with me?

Father, we pray for Your blessing upon America, that Your Holy Spirit will wax strong in our hearts, that Your Wisdom will permeate our minds, and Your Grace and Charity our souls. We pray that the hearts of our lost brothers and sisters will be turned toward You, and know Your All-Encompassing Love. Blessed be your Holy Name. Please protect us from any enemies who seek to destroy us - be it in spirit or in the physical. Please turn their hearts toward You, so that they can no longer deny Your True Love, but rather receive You abundantly - heart, mind, body and soul. Permeate every fiber of our being with your Holy Spirit. And, please, we beseech you, let there be peace, Dear Lord. What a glorious day it will be Father, when we are gathered together as one in Your Heart. Thank you, Father, that we are Your children, and that we may have Your Blessed Assurance and Peace in our hearts, minds and souls in all circumstances. Father, today, tomorrow and always, let us be worthy and thankful to live the Words You have spoken through your prophet Isaiah: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that resisteth thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, and their justice with me, saith the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17) For we, Lord, are Your servants, though frail and imperfect; we know that our strength and our perfection becomes complete only in You, so in You is where we hope to abide. All of our trust and hope is in You - all that we are and ever hope to be, Precious Lord, is in You. We thank You for Your Covering, Lord, and we thank You that we find refuge and are comforted under the shadow of Your Wing. Most of all, Father, we thank You for Your Eternal Love and Grace, and that we may stand firmly in our faith on Your Word that You will never leave nor forsake us. You are so awesome, Father. We love You. We just love You. Let us live our lives so that we delight Your Heart, so that others are drawn closer to You by our example, and that every breath we breathe is for Your Glory. In Jesus Holy Name, Amen.

Have a blessed weekend, girls. I hope to "see" you again real soon!

Love,

Nini

Praise be to God!!

Nini...an Amen and Amen. As we reach out to the Lord, let our hearts be open for anything or anyone that He may want us to pray for. He is a mighty God. We need to remember that and act on His power. Thank you for just not asking for us to pray, but praying as we can pray along with you, no matter what time we read it. Bless you/

I'm so thankful that you're all praying with me! I had send my prayer via email to other friends and family all across the country last night, including my husband's cousin here in PA. I had completely forgotten he was a state police officer at the time, and was one of the first responders at Shanksville. He is a man of deep faith, God bless and love him, and he thanked me and said he is going to pray it while he is there at the memorial service this weekend. How deeply moving to know that all of us are praying these words in agreement this weekend, all across our great nation! Please do feel free to share with whomever you would like, and be sure to give God the glory!

Hugs and blessings -

Nini

To all My Christian Farmgirls,

I come to you today not only with saddness for the events that happened 10 years ago and to pray for all of those/us affected by it, but to also ask you to pray for my community.

We have had an unusual amount of rain beginning back in the spring with only a slight let up in July. Two weeks ago we got the remnants of Irene. Then a week ago today we began to get more rain, which came and went for 3 days, then on Wednesday the rain began again and continued non stop and came down hard. Within a 24 hour period the river rose 25 feet where I am and higher in other areas. The flooding had begun. We have had problems here and there with all the rain, but nothing like this. In 2006 we had a record flood and no one thought we would ever see anything like that again, but we were wrong. The flood of 2011 has far surpassed that of 06. The devastation is immense!! 10,000 people had to be evacuated from their homes. Homes are flooded or underwater! Roads and bridges have been destroyed. One of the outlying little towns was completely inundated with water. A town I used to live in when I was married. I know people that have lost everything!! We even made the national news!!!

What I'm asking for here is your prayers for our community and the people who have been directly and indirectly affected by this flood. Our church has begun collecting cleaning supplies, clothing, bedding, toys, whatever a family would need to try and put their lives back together having lost everything. Our youth group, of which my son is a part of, went out today to try and help those in need, either by serving food or jumping in to help with the clean up of homes belonging to people they don't even know and in so doing showing Christ's love for one another. I am helping to organize the things that are coming in and to prepare and deliver meals to those in need, along with many others from our church.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE PRAY FOR US!! It is going to take a long time to recover from this. I have posted a link that will show you pictures of the devastation we are dealing with. Every time I watch it it makes me cry. Driving around and seeing people who have literally emptied their households to the curb is heart wrenching. In the video you will see the Walmart where I shop. My sons high school football field (Ty Cobb Stadium) flooded with water. The CVS I drive by every time I take my son out to his dads, the sign that says Apalachin is the town I mentioned above. Many of the roads we travel on a daily/regular basis and businesses that we frequent...flooded!!!

The one bright spot in all of this is that not ONE life has been lost. Praise God!!!!!

I forgot to mention that this is the Binghamton, NY area and the outlying areas.

Thank you for your prayers, as I know I can count on my Christian Farmgirls to jump in and lift us up

Thank you Claudia. You're right about all the devastation that is going on around our country, but it's so strange when you find yourself in the midst of something you see happening elsewhere, but never thought you would find yourself smack in the middle of! We are thankful that we just had a "small" amount of water in our basement, which we were able to eventually shop vac up. Compared to what happened to others, ours was just a spit in the bucket! Just glad that we are able to help those in need

Cyn, do you have any ideas of what you would do to be prepared if this happened again? What I mean is such things as all photos, legal papers etc. I know that my DH has backed up all our current photos, since we had a digital camera, but all the old photos are just in boxes. I'm concerned with copies of birth certificates etc, but I must admit, I have not gotten copies of those in a locked box that we could just grab. Anyway, you are right. We can only imagine what a disaster would be until we go through it. I hope not to do that... ever. But there are things that we can learn. Also, there are scriptures that God gives us "beauty for ashes." So I am expecting that God will bless the people of your area in ways that we can't even imagine. Blessings & Farm Sister hugs,Cyn.
